Alpha Damon (Sienna) novel Chapter 288

Carter:

The dream was cold.

It was empty and void of emotions, and though I tried to snap myself out of it, I couldn’t. I just found myself feeling like I was in trance.

Maybe it wasn’t a dream. It felt too real to be a dream, and yet it felt too cold for it not to be. I couldn’t understand.

“Come back to me,” her voice whispered. Soft. Feminine. Hollow. “You were mine before they pulled you away. You can come back to me, it’s never too late. Just allow me in, Allow me inside your head.”

I tried to move. Couldn’t. I wanted to run but I couldn’t. I was trapped. It was as if I was being called back.

The mist was thick, clinging to me, bleeding into my veins like poison. I felt it again… the weightless trance, the way my limbs moved without my consent. Her voice weaving into my bones.

“Don’t fight me. You didn’t fight me much before you allowed me in. You were able to feel my strength.” Tatiana breathed. ” You are mine. All you have to do is just open up to me. Don’t worry. No one’s going to get hurt. You’re not going to get hurt. Allow me to get inside your head. You are mine, Carter. The two of us made a deal. You felt my power before.”

“No,” I muttered. “We never made a deal. You forced me into this. And I’m not going to allow you to do it again.’

Her laugh echoed. “You will kneel again. I’m not giving you an option. I’m not giving you a chance to tell me what you want or do not want. I’m telling you what you’re going to do.”

Something slammed into my chest.

I gasped, snapping out of whatever this was.

Cold water doused me, jerking me upright. I coughed, choking on air. My back hit the stone wall behind me.

I looked around, frantic, trying to get myself back into whatever world I was in, trying to allow myself to process what I was going through, where I was at all.

It was the cell, one of the cells. I was in the pack. I was at home.

The cell was dark.

Damp.

And both Damon and Ethan were standing in front of me, dripping water bucket in hand, eyes like fire.

“Good morning,” Damon said, voice like a blade. “Thought you’d sleep through the end of the world? Did you really think that you would be able to get off so easily?”

Ethan didn’t speak.

He didn’t need to.

He was angry. I saw it in his eyes.

They held more betrayal, fury and disappointment than I have ever seen before.

“What…?” My throat was raw. “Where am I? What the hell happened?”

“You’re in a cell,” Damon snapped. “Because you let a goddamn war through our front door. You allowed her in very casually, using you, breaching through you.

I blinked at him. My head throbbed. “I didn’t…”

“Then explain what the hell happened,” Ethan barked. “I saw you allowing her in, you brought her in along with the others. Don’t try to lie or hide it. It’s not like it’s going to get you anywhere or benefit you in any way.”

“I…” I tried to sit up, but my wrists were chained. “I don’t… remember. Whatever happened, I really don’t know. I don’t remember how it happened.”

“Convenient,” Damon muttered. “Of all people who would betray us, I did not think that it would be you.”

“I swear to you…” I stopped, shaking my head. “One minute, I was patrolling. Then there was mist. A voice. I don’t remember anything after that. Nothing. I would never betray the home that we lived in. Whatever happened, I had no control over it.”

Ethan’s jaw clenched. “You were standing beside her. Calm. Obedient.”

“I didn’t know,” I insisted. “I didn’t choose that. If I did, you know for a fact that you would have seen me fighting back. I’m not the type to hide.”

Tatiana.

She was weaker. Paler. Barely formed.

“You,” I hissed, struggling against the chains. “You fucking bitch. What did you do?”

“You fought me,” she said, her voice brittle. “That was unwise. You know, had you allowed me in, I would have been able to

get you out of this so easily that they wouldn’t even know what was going on.”

“I’ll fight you again. I’ll burn every piece of you I find.” I said coldly. “Until my last breath, I’m going to keep fighting you.”

Her head tilted.

“You think you’re free? You’re still mine, Carter. You always will be.”

I spat on the floor. “Go to hell.”

Her lips curled into a smile. “Oh, I’ve already been. But before I return…”

She stepped closer, phantom-like.

“Deliver a message to my daughter,” she whispered. “That is, of course, if you’re ever able to get out of this mess. You know you’re only going to be free once you allow me in. But until then, hold on to your stubborn side and keep this message until you’re able to be deliver it to her.”

I tensed.

“She’s going to regret what she did. Tell Delilah… I’m coming for her. And this time, I won’t be so kind.” She said, looking me dead in the eye. “As for you, I have a lot planned for you, I just need you to bend the knee.”
