Sienna:
The fighting felt endless. And no matter how hard I try to ignore the feeling that I had, no matter how hard I try to deny it, they seemed to be coming out in ways that seemed to be countless.
For every creature we struck down, two more rose from the mist. My claws ached, my chest burned, but I didn’t stop. I couldn’t stop.
Because I knew that now everything depended on what we were going to do. I knew what stopping was going to cost us. Now that we’ve gotten this far, we couldn’t just back away.
Not while my wolves were still standing. Not while Isla was still alive somewhere inside the den. Not when I knew that if I made one wrong move, it could even cost her life. A life that was far too short for her to lose.
The fog was thicker now, pressing in from all sides, but I stayed near Damon, our shoulders brushing as we tore through the darkness together. The two of us fought by one another side and I knew that he did not want me in this fight, but I also knew that he had no other option than to say yes to it. He was not going to stop me and he knew that for a fact.
“Everything around seems to be darkening.” He whispered, and I nodded.
“I am well aware and not only is it darkening, but it’s going to get harder from here. Her men seemed to have died down. But the two of us know that they did not. It’s just a matter of time before they started attacking once again.” I said and he hummed in response as we looked into space as we waited for what was to come.
Then… it happened.
The mist shifted, colder and heavier, and every sound seemed to drain out of the world.
And suddenly, everything around seemed to still. Everything around seemed to lose. Whatever it held on to, whatever life or hope that it wanted to carry, it just stilled completely.
And she was there.
