Alpha Damon (Sienna) novel Chapter 338

Sienna:

The mist curled around my ankles like shackles as I charged through the chaos, my claws slicing another creature across the throat. It fell apart in a hiss of smoke.

Everything seemed to crumble under its weight and it was as if the world itself was now calling for help, and yet no one came to aid it. Well, not yet. We were here and we were going to destroy her. That was the goal. Stop at nothing until she’s gone.

Tatiana. Marissa.

The woman that I now vowed to never be like. The woman that I saw as nothing more than an enemy. After everything, I couldn’t handle the idea of thinking any differently about her, and I knew that it would be seen as treason if I tried, if I even thought about it.

She didn’t move. Didn’t blink. The fog worshiped her, clinging to her gown like a living thing. Her crown of black thorns caught the faint light, sharp enough to pierce the stars themselves.

Everyone was moving at her command, neither one of them aware of what they were doing, or even if they were, I doubted that they had the sense of control to try and stop her.

Her eyes met mine, and my breath caught in my chest. And for a second, just for a brief second, everything in me stilled… but it was just for a second. Because I was not going to allow her to get inside my head. I promised myself to never allow a person like her in my mind or in my life. After all the damage that she had created, I was not going to allow her to be part of that. And even if she wanted to try, I was going to be standing in her way to stop her.

I didn’t hesitate. I sprinted straight for her, my claws out, my body screaming for blood. My rage at full mode in a way that I never thought that I would be willing to fight.

The mist slammed into me mid-step, knocking me back into the dirt. My breath left me in a gasp as she stepped closer, her expression carved from ice.

“You really think you can touch me? You, of all people, a weakling, could think that she could do anything to me.” she murmured, crouching to my level. Her fingers brushed my cheek, cold and clawed. “You really think you can kill me? I would have expected that from anyone, but from you? No, that’s impossible. You don’t even have the wit to force respect on yourself. People disrespect you like they own it, like they have the right to it. And to make matters even more appealing. You have no means of trying to stop them.”

I shoved her hand aside, launching myself at her with a roar. My claws tore through her shoulder this time, and she screamed, sharp and furious.

Her hand shot up, wrapping around my throat.

“You’ll never escape me, I know that you want to deny it. I can see it in your eyes. You want to claim that you’re not my child, that you don’t belong to me. That you will never be like me. You want to promise yourself that.” she hissed, her nails digging into my skin. “You’ll never be anything but mine. Because you know why? Blood is the thing that draws you closer. It controls who you are. No matter what you’re going to try and do, you’re still going to be my daughter. And everyone that is around would see this chaos and say that it was your mother who did it. Do you really think that you’re going to be able to escape that?”

I gasped, struggling against the crushing grip…

I tried to fight her, but she simply tightened her grip as she looked down at me, as if I was nothing more than someone that she wanted to destroy. My vision started to blur and I couldn’t see Damon, though I could hear him calling for me, fighting against the mist as she grew stronger.

And then she was gone.

Ripped off me in a blur of motion and black hair.

Delilah.

She slammed Tatiana into the ground, claws flashing as she straddled her mother’s chest.

“You don’t touch her. As long as I am alive, no one is going to touch her or anyone that I value as my family.” Delilah snarled, her voice raw. “Not again. Not ever.”

Tatiana sneered, twisting her hand. The mist surged into Delilah’s ribs, but she didn’t flinch, didn’t even stop.

Her claws drove down.

Her eyes wide despite the pain, pain that I knew that she felt, and yet it was as if everything seemed to stop for her. She was not willing to let go.

She kept digging them down into our mother’s chest.
