Alpha Damon (Sienna) novel Chapter 67

Sienna:

The ride back from the interview felt like I was floating.

“We are sure that you are going to be excelling in your position.” She had said as she looked at me smiling, looking more proud than she should have been.

I’d gotten the job.

I did not expect to get the job I came here when I applied. I did not expect a response at all for me to get the job after the first interview…

It wasn’t anything extravagant, a small position at a local design firm just outside pack territory, but it was something. It was mine. It was stability. A safety net that I was building with my own hands. One that didn’t have Damon’s name written all over it.

And to make matters better, it was going to be something that I studied for. It was not going to be me slaving around for hours to get minimum wage. It was going to be something for me to be able to make something for myself, for my daughter.

And the moment I stepped foot back into the estate, I knew it was going to blow up in my face.

I knew that I needed to be expecting Damon after walking out on him. I knew that he was not going to just ignore the subject, but I had hoped that he was not going to be the first thing that I saw the 2nd that I walked inside.

Damon was waiting at the entrance, his arms crossed, his eyes narrowed. The tension in his shoulders told me everything I needed to know. He was angry. He did not expect me to actually go to the interview.

“Where the hell were you?” His voice was low, sharp, like the edge of a blade. “You wanted to interview, didn’t you? Regardless of what I said, you did what you wanted.”

“I already told you that I would.,” I said, walking past him, holding my head high. “And I got the job. This would mean stability and this would mean that I’m going to be leaving the pack grounds more often.”

His hand shot out, grabbing my arm, not tight, but enough to stop me. I turned to face him, meeting the fury in his green eyes with my own. “What the hell are you trying to do, Damon?”

“You’re not working,” he said through gritted teeth. “You’re not going anywhere near that place again. You working somewhere where I do not permit is not allowed. You are an Omega, you are part of my pack and I’m the alpha around to listen.”

“Excuse me?” I laughed in disbelief. “You don’t get to decide what I do with my life. Whether or not you are alpha and I’m an Omega and does not give you the right to be controlling me, nor does it give you the right to be the one to decide what I do with my life.”

“You’re living under my roof. You’re the mother of the Alpha’s heir. A Luna doesn’t go begging for scraps outside her pack.” He snapped, taking me off guard. I glared at him, taking a moment to process the title that he just gave me before shaking my head as I glared at him, a low growl escaping me before I could stop myself.

“I’m not your Luna,” I snapped. “You made that very clear. Everyone in this park made it very clear that I’m never going to be anything close to you. You rejected me, remember? Now you have to suffer the consequences of it because I am not going to be your Luna.”

My body tensed under the sudden force, and I should have pulled away. I should have shoved him back. But my mind short-circuited as the kiss deepened, stealing the air from my lungs and the fight from my limbs.

He pulled back only enough to whisper, his voice hoarse, his breath brushing my lips.

“You’re making a mistake, Sienna. One you won’t be able to come back from.” His hot breath hit my face, and for a moment I found myself wondering whether or not this was a dream. “And this mistake is just going to drag all of us down.”

I blinked at him, breathless, frozen.

“I don’t even know if you’re ready for what comes after.”

Then he let go of my wrist, turned on his heel, and walked away.

Leaving me in the hallway, trembling. Confused. And dangerously aware of the fire he had just lit inside me.
