Alpha’s Regret: My Rejected Mate Is A Healer novel Chapter 106

As Ella exited the room, she found some stationed guards by her door and immediately they saw her leaving they followed from a safe distance. She doesn’t like this arrangement but she knows it’s for her own safety.

She headed for the garden, aside from her room which was currently occupied by Derek and Valen, the garden is the next place she sees as her safe Zone.

She needed space, she needed to think. A lot has been happening and a lot will still happen.

Her feelings for Derek and Valen are still not sorted out and now she just learnt she had a family somewhere she doesn’t know about.

“You know you can always speak to me, I’m here” Lila said, jolting Ella from her thoughts.

“You scared me Lila…don’t ever do this again” Ella said softly

“Do what? How else was I supposed to remind you I’m within you? I can hear your thoughts too and I can feel how troubled you are. This isn’t your battle to fight alone, you can’t bottle all of that emotions up “Lila said.

Ella sighed, sinking into a garden bench. “I don’t even know where to start Lila. Everything in my life is like a mess right now.”

“Take a look at Valen and Derek and the tension between them. How am I going to choose when they are both my mates and the moon goddess said I need them?” Ella continued.

“And who said anything about choosing either of them?” Lila responded.

Ella rolled her eyes. “You’re really asking me this Lila? Two Mates from two different worlds? Wolves and Vampires? Really? They will tear each other apart before they ever work.” Ella said bitterly.

“Well…they haven’t so far” Lila pointed out. “Yes, there’s tension which is normal but none has left you. They have stayed. Doesn’t that tell you something? And besides, since you’re so scared of them tearing each other apart, why did you leave them alone in your room?”

Ella made to say something but kept quiet.

“You see… What exactly are you scared of Ella?” Lila asked

Ella exhaled slowly. “I’m not just scared, Lila, I’m terrified and not just because of them being my mates. You have seen the nightmares too, them dying because of me–I can’t stop seeing it, I can’t go through with it, I don’t even know what would originate this impending war but I can’t let anyone die because of me.”

Lila was quiet for a while. “I understand Ella, but the future isn’t written, you’re not some helpless maiden in distress waiting for fate to decide her life. You have more power than you realize and I think that’s what you should focus on.”

Ella shook her head. “I don’t even know who I am, Lila. Sandra said, I’m not related to the people I have always seen and known as my family all my life. So, who am I? What’s my heritage? Why am I the one the moon goddess chose to go through this?”

Lila was quiet for a moment before responding. “Your heritage may be unknown but your strength is not, you hold the heart of two powerful men from two different worlds, you have passed through the valley of the shadows of death and still came out unscathed. That! Should define who you are”

“But what if the Moon goddess is wrong? What if I can’t protect them? What if I fail? This fear has been haunting me, Lila” Ella whispered.

“The moon goddess can never be wrong, Ella. You have been hiding behind your fears for too long, it’s time to draw strength from them instead. You have the moon goddess backing and she would never leave you at your weakest. Trust in that”

Ella took a deep breath and exhaled.

“Oh, one more thing” Lila added

“What’s that?”

“Stop running away from your feelings. You love them both. Own it. They’ll find a way to make it work if you do.”

Just then, she heard a knock on the door, her heart hammered in her chest, a wide smile spread across her face as she ran to the door, hoping to see the both of them.

She opened the door but to her disappointment, neither Derek nor Valen was standing there, she looked out to see if they were behind, but the hall was empty, safe for Dorian who’s standing across from her and the guards stationed at her door.

Dorian was confused, wondering what she was looking for. “Are you looking for something?” He asked, following her gaze as he looked over his shoulder.

Ella’s happy expression immediately turned sour, making Dorian wonder if he had done something wrong. “No… I thought… never mind.” She folded her arms across her chest, trying to hide her disappointment.

“You came to find me?” Ella asked, trying to keep the frustration out of her voice

“Oh, yes” Dorian replied as if remembering what brought him here.

Ella raised her brow. “So…why are you here?”

“Actually, there’s a young man here to see you”

Her brow furrowed “A young man?”

“Yes, he said he’s your brother”

Ella froze. “My brother?”
