Ella found herself walking through a breathtaking garden, unlike anything she had ever seen. The air was cool and crisp, filled with the faint scent of blooming flowers. Vibrant blossoms of every color stretched across the horizon, their petals glowing softly under a silver light that seemed to emanate from the sky. A narrow river, its waters sparkling as if infused with tiny diamonds, flowed gently through the garden, creating a soothing melody. The moon hung low in the sky, larger and brighter than Ella had ever seen, casting an ethereal glow over everything. The air smelled of jasmine and lavender, a calming scent that filled her lungs with each breath.
She paused, taking in the serene beauty. The peace here felt divine, yet something shifted-a shadow moved across the garden. Ella’s gaze lifted, and her breath caught in her throat as she saw a figure emerge from the light.
The woman before her was beyond beautiful that Ella couldn’t look away, her features flawless and glowing with an otherworldly radiance. Her long silver hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, shimmering as if kissed by moonlight, and her piercing eyes seemed to hold the wisdom of countless centuries. She wore a flowing gown that shimmered with the colors of the night sky, stars seemingly embedded in the fabric. On her head was a delicate silver crown adorned with a crescent moon, a matching crescent engraved on the bangle around her wrist.
Around the woman werewolves, their forms majestic and powerful, their eyes watchful. They seemed to surround her, not as guards but as companions, bound to her by a force Ella could feel but not name.
Ella’s heart pounded as realization struck her. “The Moon Goddess,” she whispered, awe and disbelief intertwining in her voice.
The woman smiled warmly, her voice like a melody carried on a gentle breeze. “Welcome to my realm, Ella.”
Ella blinked in confusion. “Am I… am I dead?”
The Moon Goddess chuckled softly, her eyes twinkling. “Not quite, my dear. This is my realm, a sacred place where I guide and protect my children.” She gestured gracefully to the wolves surrounding her, their forms shimmering with light.
Ella’s knees buckled slightly under the weight of the moment, and she bowed her head. “Oh, Moon Goddess,” she murmured, her voice trembling with reverence.
“I don’t understand. How am I here? Why am I here?”
“Not everyone is privileged to step into my realm, Ella,” the goddess replied, her smile gentle but knowing. “But you are unique, and you are here for a purpose.
“Rise, Ella. You are here for a purpose,” the goddess said, extending a hand to her. “Come, walk with me.”
Ella hesitated, then stepped forward, her bare feet sinking into the soft, cool grass. As they walked, she noticed more wolves, each regal and glowing. They ran freely around them, some leaping gracefully across the sparkling river. Their fur glistened under the moonlight, their movements powerful yet fluid.
Yet one figure among them caught her eye.
“Lila!” Ella cried out, her voice breaking with emotion. She sprinted forward and fell to her knees, wrapping her arms around her wolf’s silvery-white fur. Lila, once radiant and strong, now appeared frail, her once-bright eyes dim.
Ella buried her face in Lila’s fur, tears streaming down her cheeks. “What happened to you?” she whispered.
Lila nuzzled her gently, but her movements were sluggish, her strength clearly waning.
“She is weak,” the Moon Goddess said softly, standing behind her. “But she is not beyond saving.”
Ella turned, her tear-streaked face filled with desperation. “Why? Why is she like this?”
“Because your bond is incomplete,” the Moon Goddess explained, her tone patient yet firm. “You are unique, Ella, and so is Lila. Your destinies are intertwined, but for her to recover, you must fulfill your purpose.”
“My purpose?” Ella’s voice quivered. “I don’t understand.”
The goddess sighed softly, her expression tinged with sorrow. “Like I said, Ella, you are special, and so is your wolf. Lila’s condition is tied to you, and I brought you here for two reasons: one is to address her state, and the other is to prepare you for your destiny.”
Ella blinked, confusion and fear swirling in her chest. “I… I still don’t understand.”
The Moon Goddess smiled gently, her eyes filled with both sorrow and hope. “You have a new mate, Ella. For reasons you will come to understand, Lila’s recovery depends on him.”
Ella’s eyes darkened. “A new mate. But Alpha Derek hasn’t accepted my rejection. He’s still my mate.”
The goddess nodded. “And yet, fate has given you another. You will need them both, Ella, for what is to come.”
Ella’s mind raced with confusion and disbelief. “But how? Why?”
Ella woke with a start, her body drenched in sweat. She was screaming, the sound raw and terrified.
The door burst open, and Valen rushed in, his crimson eyes scanning the room. “Ella!” he called, his voice sharp with concern. He was at her side in an instant, pulling her into his arms.
“Wake up,” he urged, his voice softer now. “It’s just a dream. You’re safe.”
Ella’s screams subsided, but her body trembled violently as she clung to him. “It wasn’t just a dream,” she whispered, her voice hoarse. “It felt so real. I saw… I saw death. Blood. You… you were hurt. There was a war, Valen. A terrible war.”
Valen stiffened at her words but said nothing. He stroked her hair gently, whispering soothing words to calm her trembling body.
“It’s okay,” he murmured. “You’re safe now. Whatever you saw, it hasn’t happened yet. We will figure it out together”
Ella raised her tear-streaked face to look into his crimson eyes. Was it really just a dream? She wondered as memory from the dream still lingered.
Valen,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.
“Yes?”
“Do you believe in destiny?”
Valen’s hand paused mid-stroke before resuming. “I believe we make our own destiny, Ella. But sometimes, we’re called to something greater than ourselves.”
His words resonated with her, but the uncertainty in her heart remained.
As Ella rested her head against his chest, the Moon Goddess’s words echoed in her mind: A great war is coming. The victory or the defeat is dependent on you.
