Lewana POV
I eventually got some control back from Serena. I used that energy to walk us straight into the private living room. To say I was mortified at her declaring herself the ultimate bridezilla was an understatement. Once the door is closed, I lay into her.
“What the hell were you thinking, declaring us a bridezilla?
I could feel Serena roll her eyes at me. “So what if I did?
We are awesome, have won a battle against the shadows, marked by our mate, and been accepted as Luna Queen.
We should get everything we want”.
“I couldn’t agree more”. I jump at the voice. Conrad followed us down from the kitchen and was watching Serena and I argue with an amused smirk on his face.
I cover my face with my hands and groan, and he walks over, chuckling, and pulls me into a hug.
He lifts my chin up to meet his eyes and stares deeply and lovingly into them. “Lewana, what is it you want?”.
I don’t even need to think about it. “A small ceremony with just the pack. Having it as quick as possible so I don’t get mistaken for the actual moon when this bump gets bigger, and with whatever clothes we have upstairs”.He starts laughing. Fully belly mocking laughter as he pulls me into a tighter hug.
“First of all, my love, you need to remember this ceremony isn’t just for you. It is for all wolves. Secondly, all the Alphas need to come and pledge allegiance to you for you to be formally acknowledged as Queen and not just Luna.
Finally, the pack has been preparing for this since you were declared when you were kidnapped. Michelle already has a dress made, and I’ve had a lot of custom jewellery purchased. The Gammas have a space in the Moon Garden for Ceremonies. Liam has been in talks with Human World Magazine for exclusive rights to the photos, and Valerie is going to televise it on her secret network so all wolves can watch”.
My jaw literally drops as the realisation hits. He’s right.! hate being the centre of attention. It was always safer in the background. Serena, on the other hand, has also dreamed of the day she could come out into the spotlight.
I huff and speak out loud so Conrad can hear me. “Fine, Serena. You can have what you want. But I draw the line at you being rude or bitchy towards the pack when you get frustrated at this ridiculous time you have set”.
She lets out a sharp laugh. “As if you’re able to stop me. have both of our boys on my side”.
Conrad’s expression turns serious. “I didn’t bring this up until now, as everyone was celebrating our survival. I was also only told this morning by the guards, but we need todeal with Donovan”.
Right. I completely forgot about him. It’s only been a few days since l’ve seen him, but it feels like weeks.
| look at Conrad as I have never actually handed down a sentence before. “What are your thoughts?”
He looks at the floor uncomfortably before he speaks. ”
This seems to have turned into a medical issue, unfortunately. So that will be entirely up to you”.
“What do you mean?”.
“Let’s go look at his medical file and then go see him”.
“Hello, Luna Queen. So glad you are well. Did you save Malik?”.
I stare in disbelief and turn to Conrad, who comes intoDonovan’s view.
He speaks to him this time in a calm voice. “Donovan, how are you doing?”.
His tone and posture switch instantly to that of a dignified council member. “Good Morning, Alpha King. How can l help you today? Do you need me to prepare for the next council meeting?”
The cold sense of dread washes over me as I work out what’s happening. The amount of trauma and his denial of reality have fractured his mind. He no longer has a sense of reality. This was incredibly dangerous for a werewolf.
1 walk back to the pack house with Conrad deep in thought. He held my hand the entire way just so I could feel him there. My mind raced with the options I would have to consider.
I hadn’t even realised that it was now lunch time, and Conrad was leading me to the kitchen where Mary had already prepared food.
Everyone was there. The girls, Arthur, Liam, and Connor.
Conrad must have mind-linked them, knowing I need to talk this through. Conrad and I explained the situation to the confused and worried faces as an uneasy silence to hold when we were done.
