Balance of Light and Shadow (By Chandrea) novel Chapter 242

Liam POV

The rollercoaster on the night of the battle was intense.

Exilerating that we won against Malik. Devastation when we lost Lewana and Conrad to the Shadows. Then the hours of fear we had to survive without them before the moon had a chance to bring them back.

Every guardian wanted to help and protect them, so we divided into two teams. Sirens and Faes during the day.

Phoenix’s and Wolves at night.

We moved them to the Moon Garden that Conrad has constructed. We figured this would protect them the most. We placed them on a bed we brought outside and monitored them closely. The Sirens cleaned both of them, and the Faes placed flowers around them while tending to the garden, and the Phoenixs lit flame torches around them so they wouldn’t be in darkness.

It was awful seeing them in this state. Every vein was now black as they rested peacefully, but we just hoped they could save each other.

We all waited on the night the moon rose. Neck craned towards the sky, waiting for her to be high enough. At one point, the Faes offered to sacrifice the trees blocking her view, which I know was a huge deal for them. Arthur said no and that we should keep waiting.

When the moonlight hit the pond in the middle, it startedglowing. The wind started to pick up, and Lewana and Conrad started to twitch. Both of their mouths opened, and shadow came out of them as breath. They formed a tornado and started swirling over the couple as if they were trying to take them away in the wind.

All the guardians came forward. The Phoenixes manipulated the flames, forming a circle, keeping the shadow inside. The Sirens used the moonlight water from the pond to create a barrier over the couple, as the wind caused the fire to increase. The Faes had their staff and started banging on the ground in the circle, creating ripples in the earth beneath them.

Mary stepped forward and started howling. Long and strong, like she always knew this day would come. I have no idea why, but I never questioned her before, and I’m not starting now. Every wolf started howling as the tornado of shadow got bigger, but it had nowhere to go within the circle and seemed to be sighing the elements.

The earth seemed to crack, and the shadows either got sucked in or pushed into the abyss below. The Faes quickly manipulated the soil and pushed the earth back together, and everyone withdrew their powers.

We all stood and just stared at them with bated breath.

Did the shadows take their life force with them? Were we too late?

Conrad was the first to move and instantly turned to Lewana and placed a hand on her belly as if checking thebump was real. Lewana slowly opened her eyes and Looked at Conrad, and placed her hand on top of his.

The cheers broke out immediately. Yelling, crying, howling, fire sparks, water spurts, and pure joy emanating from everyone. The celebration lasted the entire night and into the next day.

The following morning, we stumbled into the kitchen with a strange sense of calm washing over everyone. The whole gang ate in silence until Michelle spoke up.

“I just have to ask, as it’s killing me, but is that it? Are we done? Is Lewana officially the Luna Queen?”.

The questions hung in the air, as if everyone was going through a mental checklist to confirm that everything was done. All enemies defeated. Nothing else was standing in our way.

Conrad was the first speak. “If you mean enemies and battles, then yes. However, we still need to have the ceremony to make it official”.

All the ğirls start excitedly giggling. This doesn’t stop Conrad from speaking, though.

“In order to start the process, I need to do something first”.

He gets down on one knee and pulls out a small box from his jacket pocket.

“If I want to be one, then I will. I am going to be the most powerful and love Luna Queen this world has ever seen.

All enemies will cower before me if they further deny my claim or try to harm my mate and pups. They will all see that at my ceremony and how much of a bridezilla I can be

Conrad pulls her into his embrace, but I can tell from the glowing eyes that Jace has taken over.

“Damn right, my Luna Queen. No will dare treat our pups and will all tremor with fear and bathe in your glorious reign .

I just started laughing with everyone else. They are being adorable and deserve this happiness, so no one wanted to take it away from them. I am, however, intending on teasing Conrad about it later.

Jace growls into Serena’s ear. “So when are we having the ceremony, my love.

She thinks for just a split second. “In 6 weeks. The blue moon is on that date, and I want it to be then.

Michelle jumps up, horrified. “6 weeks. That is nowhere near enough time to plan a full grand ceremony”

Serena just waves her hand. “I’m the Bridezilla. If that’s when I want it, that’s when I will have it”

Suddenly it’s not so funny.
