Isabel took two steps after the car, her cheeks puffed with anger.

Mrs. Blackwell was clearly provoked. “What kind of attitude is that? Have you forgotten what you so confidently promised? Or have you changed your mind and decided you don’t want to leave after all?”

“I want the divorce,” Isabel stated clearly. “That’s why I’m asking if you have a way to expedite it.”

Mrs. Blackwell seemed skeptical. Isabel added, “I’ll sign an agreement. I don’t want any assets, and I don’t want custody of the children. I just want a divorce.”

That was all Mrs. Blackwell needed to hear.

She had been worried Isabel would make a scene and that Adrian would have to give her a hefty settlement.
