Halcyon Hills Residence.
Adrian got out of the car first, walked around to the other side, and lifted the intoxicated Isabel out.
Isabel had been leaning against the seat, quiet and asleep the whole ride, not making a sound, causing trouble, or getting sick.
With steady steps, Adrian carried her toward the master bedroom. Just as he laid her on the bed, she suddenly opened her eyes and grabbed his tie with one hand.
Caught off guard, he was pulled down, their faces nearly touching.
He turned his head to avoid her, his voice still cold. "Let go."
Isabel didn't let go; she pulled even harder.
Adrian's expression darkened. He grabbed her wrist and yanked his tie free.
"I see your right hand is plenty strong. Doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with it."
Isabel smiled, squinting as she tried to focus on the person in front of her. "Adrian, I know you don't love me, but you don't have to be so sarcastic. Whether this hand is important or not, it's a part of my body. Is it wrong for me not to want to be disabled?"
Suddenly, her laugh turned cold. "This isn't about whether my hand was hurt or if I can use it. It's about the fact that in that situation, Selena was never in any danger, yet you still chose to hurt me!"
Adrian looked at her coldly. "Well, you didn't end up disabled, did you?"
Isabel knew it would be like this. She gave a self-deprecating smile. "Why did you bring me back here?"
"Was I supposed to just watch you tarnish the Blackwell family name?"
"If you divorce me, I'll have nothing to do with the Blackwells, and their reputation won't be tarnished because of me."
Isabel stood up on the bed, making her slightly taller than him. She pointed a finger at his head. "If you had just processed the divorce earlier, you wouldn't have to waste your time worrying about me doing things that harm the Blackwell family and you."
Adrian couldn't be bothered to argue with a drunk person.
Whatever he said, she wouldn't understand.
"Go to sleep. We'll talk when you're sober."
Seeing him about to leave, Isabel immediately clung to his arm. "Adrian, I want a divorce!"
Adrian pulled her off him without responding and strode away.
Isabel stood firmly in place. A moment later, she walked steadily out of Halcyon Hills Residence.
Adrian came out of the kitchen with a hangover remedy, only to find Isabel gone.
Oliver had been at the estate recently, and with him being abroad, he had given Martha time off.
The vast Halcyon Hills Residence was eerily quiet.
It seemed to exude a sense of desolation.
