Isabel couldn't be bothered to argue with him.

As she turned, she made eye contact with Dylan.

Dylan spoke up, “I need to talk to you in a bit.”

Isabel nodded, turned, and pulled the door open. Before she could step out, she heard Selena’s surprised voice. “I just realized, Mr. Foster is the man who came out of a room with Isabel that one time. And now seeing Isabel serving tea in your lab... it seems you two are quite close.”

Isabel hadn't intended to respond, but Selena was always taking these subtle jabs at her.

In the past, she had thought that with Selena abroad, they could stay out of each other's way.

Forcing Adrian into marriage had been difficult enough, and trying to win him over was a constant struggle.

So she had turned a blind eye whenever he went to see Selena.

But now that they were getting a divorce, she had no reason to hold back.

“My relationship with Mr. Foster is quite good, but it's nothing compared to your relationship with Mr. Blackwell. You call yourselves brother and sister, but you act like lovers in secret.”

“Isabel,” Adrian's warning voice cut in. “If you have a problem, take it up with me.”

Isabel directed her words at him. “If Mr. Blackwell doesn't want your precious darling to be insulted any further, then he should hurry up and divorce me. That way, no matter what you two do, no one can call her a homewrecker.”

“She never was,” Adrian snapped, the word “divorce” grating on his ears. “My patience is limited. If you keep repeating this, it might just come true. And you'd better not run crying to my grandmother about it.”

“Don't worry, I won't.”
