Blizzard, First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 246

"You really are strange, Adrian. You agreed to marry her, which means you were willing, yet you treated her with cold indifference for six years. Even the deepest love would grow cold over time."

He had a hunch that Adrian's attentiveness to Selena was a cover for some secret.

A secret that perhaps only Adrian himself knew.

He had asked, but couldn't get an answer. It wasn't easy to pry Adrian's mouth open.

"Since you regret it now, you should be trying to win her back gently. This forceful approach will only push her into someone else's arms."

"Then what was her love worth?" Adrian finally spoke, his voice icy. "She never understood me either. If she truly loved me, how could she let go so easily?"

"My friend," Henry said with a weary smile. "Her right hand was so important to her. Because of you, she can never be what she once was. She loved you, but she isn't a fool. After you hurt her so badly, of course she would protect herself by stopping her love for you."

"Love isn't supposed to leave you both covered in scars. You came out unscathed, but she lost something precious. It's only natural that her love turned to hate."

Adrian said nothing.

Henry sighed. "You don't tell her anything, just busy yourself with your own affairs. She had no idea why you were rescuing and protecting Selena. Her decision to stay away from you was the right one."

"Are people in love supposed to be completely honest, with no secrets at all?" Adrian's brow furrowed. "I didn't tell her about Selena, but she never told me she was a brilliant pharmaceutical researcher. I never knew how important her right hand was to her."

"Are you sure she never told you? Back when you were protecting Selena?"

"..."

Henry stated the obvious. "It was you who didn't believe her, Adrian."

After a few seconds of silence, Adrian said, "And if I had told her about Selena, she would have just accepted it and trusted me unconditionally?"

Henry felt a wave of exhaustion.

Sometimes, the logic of a genius was truly hard to grasp.

If it were purely intellectual logic, it might be traceable.

But when it came to emotions, for a moment, he really wished he could disown this friend.
