Of course she was his mother.
Isabel glanced at Oliver, who was now nestled in Selena’s arms.
She wanted to love and protect him, but he didn't need her, did he?
And since he didn't, and she hadn't fought for custody, she no longer had the responsibility.
“Right now, we should be dealing with the issue between the children.”
Suddenly, Oliver turned and shouted at Isabel, “I don’t want you anymore!”
Then he ran out of the room.
Selena quickly followed him.
Isabel’s eyes followed them for a moment, her hand at her side clenching into a fist.
She actually found it rather amusing.
Hadn't he already made it clear that he didn't want her?
After a pause, she addressed Adrian again. “Since Mr. Blackwell’s son is emotionally unstable, Mr. Blackwell can apologize and provide compensation on his behalf.”
Of course, Adrian wasn't going to apologize.
His cold gaze swept over the trio opposite him, who looked for all the world like a family.
He spoke slowly. “No matter what, you shouldn’t be standing against your own son. He’s only five. He doesn’t understand the issues between adults. If you’re angry about what happened that night during the snowstorm, you shouldn’t take it out on a child.”
To this day, he still believed her anger stemmed from the fact that he hadn’t saved her first that night.
Especially since Selena was never in any real danger.
Of course, she was angry about that.
It was the final straw that made her decide on a divorce.
But it wasn't the main reason.
For the past six years, she had given so much.
Because she had loved the father and son.
She hadn't really felt the hardship or the grievance.
It was just that she had suddenly realized that some people, whether they are your own son or your husband, are just not meant to be in your life for long.
Selena didn't have to do anything.
