Isabel used to wish Adrian would say more to her.

Now, all she wished was for him to shut up.

Ever since she'd brought up the divorce, every word out of his mouth had grated on her last nerve.

"Yes, I did a lot of things that disgusted you before, Mr. Blackwell. But I don't want to do them anymore. Either I stay in the other bedroom and let Selena stay with you in the master, or I'm going home and coming back in the morning!"

Halcyon Hills Residence had many rooms, but each had its purpose.

There was only room for the three of them, one guest room, and a maid's room.

Adrian disliked having outsiders stay over, including his own friends and family.

Since they all lived in Westbridge, there was no need for overnight guests.

She never thought the day would come when Selena would be living here.

Though, in hindsight, it was to be expected.

"Or I could share with Martha."

Adrian frowned, a look of confusion on his face.

Clearly, none of her suggestions were what he'd anticipated.

He might not have been so puzzled if she'd offered to stay with Oliver.

"Why would Selena be staying in the master bedroom with me?"

Isabel didn't want to get angry, but she was at her breaking point. "Why are you asking me? Ask yourself!"

For all she knew, he and Selena had already done who-knows-what when she wasn't around.

And now he was playing innocent in front of her.

Was he that afraid she would run and tattle to old Mrs. Blackwell, embarrassing his precious sweetheart?

"I'm asking you because I don't know. I've already arranged for her to stay in the guest room."

Isabel didn't want to argue about this anymore.

No matter what, she was getting a divorce. That was certain.

There was no point wasting time debating the nature of his relationship with Selena.

She had eyes to see and a heart to feel.

"If you insist I stay in the master bedroom, don't regret it if something happens."
