Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 157

Giselle felt utterly helpless as she watched her dog curled up in the corner, whimpering in pain, throwing up everything he had eaten, his once strong body now weak and limp. She had tried all her usual treatments, but none worked against this atypical virus. The only way to save him was to get the vaccine.

Slumped on the couch, she wrestled with her thoughts for a long time, feeling more and more lost.

Giselle had thought she could cut him out of her life completely, never crossing paths again. Yet here she was, faced with a problem so severe she had no choice but to seek his help. But no matter what, she couldn't bring herself to swallow her pride and beg him.

After a sleepless night, she came up with a risky plan.

The next evening, after some careful disguise, she returned to Kane Group's pharmaceutical headquarters. It was already past 8:00 pm, and most employees had left for the day. With sunglasses and a mask on, her hair pulled into a high ponytail, and dressed in dark clothes, she slipped quietly into the research and development building.

Kane Group was a powerhouse in biopharmaceutical research and development. They collaborated with top medical universities around the world, hired talent from multiple countries, and used the most advanced technology and equipment. Consequently, they released many groundbreaking new drugs each year, and many of their best-selling medications dominated the market.

Giselle went inside the research building and noticed that several labs were still brightly lit. Many researchers were working late, moving quickly, and focused on their tasks. No one paid her any attention.

She casually wandered around, glanced into each department, and quietly made up her mind.

He looked over and glared at her. "What the hell do you want now?"

Leaning against the cabinet at the foot of his bed, she looked him in the eyes and fearlessly said, "I added an excessive amount of pseudoephedrine in the latest batch of cold medicine produced. If you agree to the request I made this morning, I'll tell you exactly which batch it's in. You might just have time to stop the damage!"

As soon as her words fell, his expression hardened, and his voice sounded like it came from hell. "Say that again."

"You heard me! There's no need for me to repeat myself," she said coldly. "I'm in trouble, and I do need your help. But don't expect me to bow my head and beg! This is the only way I can threaten you. If—"

Before she could finish, he sprang up from his bed, grabbed her by the hair, and gave her the death stare. "You'd better be honest with me! Did you actually do that?"
