Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 169

Tony, her biological father, was too busy with his career to care for her, his biological daughter. Giselle reckoned that even if she were to die one day, Tony wouldn't even shed a tear.

She already knew she couldn't count on her acquaintances.

There was no longer anyone or anything in the world that could make her want to stay. Her desire for freedom was diminishing day by day, and to her, even if she had to spend her entire life in this place, cut off from the world, it might be the only way she would ever find true inner peace.

Another week had passed, and the wardens escorted her out alone once more and informed her, "Pack your things. Change your clothes. You're leaving today."

"What?" Giselle thought they were joking.

"Your guarantor has posted your bail, and you're being released on bail. We've checked it and approved it. You just have to obey all the conditions when you're out there and be there for court dates," said a female warden, who was very kind.

Giselle was confused, but she still changed quickly. After she got her phone back from the police, she was escorted out.

When she exited the gates, she took a deep breath, enjoying her first breath of freedom, when a man suddenly materialized beside her.

It was Gideon.

"What are you doing here?" Giselle was a little surprised, but she started to put the pieces together.

"We'll talk more in the car. Let's go." Gideon didn't say anything more. He gently patted her on her back and pushed her toward a car nearby, opening the car door for her so she could get in.

"I can sense it," Gideon replied humorously.

In reality, he remembered seeing her post a video about her making a berry chantilly cake and remembered this specific detail.

"Thank you," Giselle replied as she ate her cake. She looked at him intently as a wave of strange unease arose in her heart. It was like she had just gotten to know him again today.

"So, are you the one who posted my bail?" Giselle wasted no time.

"Yes, I guess." Gideon paused. "Technically, someone else helped me out with this."
