Seeing that Donovan was finally breathing again and had a pulse, Gideon let out a curse. He collapsed onto the floor and gasped for air.

Just then, the medical staff arrived. They carefully lifted Donovan, who had been revived but still semi-conscious, onto a stretcher and rushed him to the hospital for further treatment.

Several minutes later, another ambulance arrived for Giselle.

"I don't need to go to the hospital," she said.

Under Donovan's care, her hypothermia wasn't too severe. After drinking warm water and being wrapped in blankets, her mind was clear. Despite the temporary loss of motion control, she believed she could recover by just taking a hot bath at home.

"Let's go. It's better to get checked out just in case," Gideon insisted while helping her into the ambulance.

At the hospital, Giselle received IV fluids, drank more warm water, and rested under heavy blankets. Her body gradually recovered, and fortunately, there was no serious damage.

The thought of the terrifying ordeal in the cold storage still traumatized her. Her limbs trembled slightly, as if she had just woken from a nightmare.

Seeing Gideon sitting beside her hospital bed, she couldn't shake the surreal feeling. Finally, she asked, "How did you suddenly show up tonight to save me?"

Gideon looked at her for a moment before speaking, "If I tell you the truth, you might get mad."

"What is it?" Giselle asked.

He laid it all out plainly.

Giselle felt a mix of emotions she couldn't untangle. Yet, she said softly, "Thanks. If it weren't for you, I'd probably be frozen stiff right now… halfway to heaven…"

"It's nothing." Gideon's tone grew heavier as he added, "When I pushed the door open and saw that bastard risk his life to protect you, I felt some respect for him."

Giselle hadn't stopped worrying about Donovan. Upon hearing this, she could no longer hold back. She started to get out of bed while trying to pull out the IV needle from her hand.

"What room is he in? I want to check on him."
