Giselle came out of the bedroom in her pajamas. She walked into the living room, still half asleep.
Peeking through the peephole, she saw Tony's face. After hesitating for a few seconds, she opened the door, only to realize that he wasn't alone.
Standing with him were Renee and Anne. The moment they saw her, their eyes widened in shock—as if they had seen a ghost.
Disbelief was written all over their faces, while Anne's jaw tightened with anger and resentment.
"Giselle!" Tony said. He was the first to speak and sounded both surprised and relieved. "You're… You're alright? When did you come back? Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
It turned out that after Vivienne's visit yesterday, she told Sebastian about Giselle's return. Sebastian wasted no time in telling Renee, and soon the entire Holt was looped in. Every last detail of her ordeal was laid bare for their scrutiny.
Giselle merely shot them a cold glance. Without a word, she turned back toward the living room.
"You're pretty tough, aren't you?" Renee muttered. When she first heard the news, she was so shocked that she felt compelled to see for herself. Was Giselle truly back from the dead?
"Yeah," Giselle replied with a mocking smile and crossed arms. "I guess my grandparents and my mother must be watching over me from above, protecting me all the way back home. This must be so disappointing for you. Even all of that couldn't finish me off."
Renee was left speechless by the retort. Apart from glaring at her fiercely and scrutinizing her, she couldn't muster a single word of rebuke...
Then, he turned back to Giselle. He wanted to ask about where she had been and what had happened, but she dodged the subject entirely.
Instead, she flatly said, "Alright. You've seen for yourself that I'm alive. Now, get out."
Her gaze shifted deliberately to Renee. "Just so you know, I had to kill several people to make it back this time. My hands are drenched in blood, so call me experienced if you will. If you keep provoking me like before… well, I can't promise that I won't do anything… drastic. Consider yourself warned."
Renee's face darkened at the threat. She muttered curses under her breath but turned to leave. Not wanting to stir up trouble, Anne glared at Giselle one last time and followed.
Just as she stepped out, the elevator door across the hall slid open, and out walked Donovan.
