Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 305

Giselle was back at her place.

After she kicked Donovan out of her apartment, she wanted to ask Joanne to leave as well.

However, the latter was hardworking, clever and respected her boundaries. Additionally, her cooking was to her liking, and she was able to help her take care of her dog as well.

Joanne was far better at her job than any of Giselle's previous housekeepers. Giselle couldn't bring herself to part with such a capable housekeeper. So, she decided to let her stay for the time being.

Giselle rarely had time to do any housework. Plus, it wasn't healthy for her to constantly dine out at restaurants as well. With such a brilliant housekeeper to help her out, she was able to greatly improve her quality of life.

This morning, Joanne walked the dog and stopped by the store for some groceries. While she was out, Giselle slept in until she woke up naturally.

After she got out of bed, she decided to wash up and head to her clinic. However, right after she'd washed up and got changed, she heard the doorbell ring.

She opened the door and found a tall and familiar man standing before her. The man in question was none other than Gideon Grayson.

Giselle stared at his weary face and was slightly taken aback.

"What are you doing here?" she asked.

She didn't think it was necessary to speak to him face-to-face anymore. So, she proceeded to shut the door immediately. But to her dismay, Gideon forcefully pushed her door open and walked into her apartment.

"How have you been, Giselle?" he asked in a hoarse voice.

His eyes were sunken in, and he looked like he hadn't shaved his face in days. It was evident that he hadn't been taking care of himself or resting well. He looked mentally exhausted as well.

"I gave Cecilia custody of the child. I promised to pay for child support, and we signed an agreement. She agreed not to meddle in my life anymore—"

Before he could finish, she shook his head and said, "Forget it. I don't want you to do this. Your child should have a complete family. I think it's best if you get back together with your ex."

"Are you really not going to give me a second chance?" he asked.

Unable to hold himself back, he reached out to grab her wrist.

Then, with a pained expression, he exclaimed emotionally, "I'm going to make it very clear to you right now, Giselle. I can't live without you!"

He continued, "I tried not talking to you for an entire week, but every single day felt like torture to me. My life felt bleak and hopeless. You don't have to marry me, but please don't cut me off completely."
