Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 310

The airbag from the driver's seat had been deployed, while the seat itself was damaged and deformed. Donovan was unconscious, and his upper body was trapped in the car seat. His head was bleeding, and he had multiple injuries all over his body.

"Donovan!" Giselle yelled frantically.

Smacking his body, she continued yelling, "Wake up! Stay with me, Donovan! Hey—Wake up! Donovan Kane!"

When he didn't respond to her and wouldn't stop bleeding, she grew extremely anxious.

Trembling, she reached for her phone. Because she was too nervous, she ended up dropping the phone at her feet.

Shaking, she hastily bent over to pick it up before dialing 911. Once the call went through, she immediately told the operator about the car crash and asked for an ambulance.

While she was waiting for help to arrive, she felt more terrified and uneasy than she'd ever been. Every now and then, she'd reach over and smack Donovan while calling out his name. To her dismay, he remained unconscious no matter what she did.

Fearing the worst, she couldn't bring herself to check if he was still breathing.

The overwhelming scent of blood and the sight of it pooling on his body made her so anxious that she began to cry. Her heart was beating rapidly. She felt extremely afraid.

When she compared the deformed driver's seat to her own seat, which was fully intact, she suddenly understood what Donovan had just done.

When faced with such an emergency, a regular driver would instinctively turn the steering wheel to the left in order to protect themselves from the collision. If that were to happen, the passenger on their right would get hit instead.

So, the passenger seat was the most dangerous seat in the entire car. Those seated on the front passenger seat also had the highest risk of passenger death.

Before the collision, Donovan went against basic human instincts and veered right in order to save Giselle's life.

Giselle watched as multiple doctors hastily made their way into the room to help. She stared at the door to the ER and the glaring "ER" that was labeled on top of it.

She slumped weakly onto a bench in the waiting area outside. She was completely at a loss. She didn't know what else she could do.

She sat there in a daze for half an hour before she finally took notice of her injured arm. The blood around the wound had already dried up.

She had no choice but to get up and absentmindedly register herself at the front desk. Afterward, a doctor from the emergency department tended to her and dressed her wound. The doctor gave her an injection as well.

An hour later, she spoke to the police and told them about the chain of events surrounding the car accident. Subsequently, she returned to the entrance of the ER.

The door was still shut. She felt weak and lightheaded. Due to how anxious and uneasy she was, she found it hard to breathe and was on the verge of fainting.
