Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 326

From that day on, Giselle moved into the ward to stay with Donovan, keeping him company day and night.

Most of the chores were handled by the caregivers, so she had little to do herself. Occasionally, she would wipe him down, feed him meals and medicine, or wheel him outside to sit in the sun.

With his emotions steadier, Donovan's recovery quickened. Within a week, he could already sit up on his own, though walking was still some time away.

Even so, he refused to be idle. He buried himself in his phone and laptop, reviewing documents, holding video conferences with executives, never letting himself rest.

That afternoon, after a round of online gaming left her tired, Giselle called out, "Hey, do you want me to take you outside for some air?"

He didn't answer. His attention was glued to the screen, face hard and focused, as if nothing else existed.

Catching sight of his sharp, focused profile, Giselle marched straight to his bedside, yanked the tablet out of his hands without a word, and tossed it onto the couch.

"Do you have a death wish? The doctors told you to rest. Can't you leave this for a day? Or do you think you'll lose billions if you don't work for a few hours?"

Donovan gave a helpless laugh, reaching out to pat her head. His voice softened. "Have you thought about our wedding? I'll have the company put together a team just to plan it."

The unexpected question froze her. Her expression dimmed, eyes darkening.

She let out a cold laugh. "You really think we're suited for marriage?"

"Of course." He didn't even bother to argue the point.
