Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 337

"Alright," Donovan agreed with Giselle's suggestion.

When it came to marriage, Donovan had never let his family dictate his choices.

As the driving force behind Kane Group—the CEO of a corporation earning hundreds of billions each year—he held absolute autonomy over his personal life. His engagement to Anne had been nothing more than indifference on his part. He hadn't cared who the family chose for him. Any match would have sufficed if it kept them from nagging him.

Now that he had made up his mind for himself, there was no reason to consider their opinions at all.

"Thank you." Giselle couldn't help whispering it when she saw how decisively he agreed.

She slipped her arms around his neck with the same intimacy as before, her gaze locking with his, dark eyes shimmering with a hypnotic pull. "Do you know? Even after all that time apart, I never stopped loving you. Not for a single day."

Her lips claimed his before he could answer. She parted his mouth, her kiss heated and insistent. He responded instinctively, returning it with a lingering tenderness until his body grew taut with desire.

Sensing his reaction, she trailed her kisses down his throat, across his chest, and lower still.

After all the twisting paths her heart had taken, Giselle had finally decided—she would hold onto this man with everything she had.

Only by marrying him and becoming the rightful Mrs. Kane, with the Kane Group's protection, would she have the strength to quietly and completely destroy Renee and Anne.

On her own, she could never rise above petty outbursts and impulsive slaps. Revenge required power.

She no longer hesitated. No longer cared about the Kane family's disapproval. All she wanted was to marry him as soon as possible.

So she let go of past grievances, casting them aside as though returning to the beginning of their love, and gave herself to him with unrestrained passion, stoking his desire and answering it with her own.

Gideon replied, "Alright, I'll handle it. Just focus on resting these next few days. I'll come see you the day after tomorrow."

"No need," Giselle replied. Her mind was already set on a clear goal, and she didn't want to keep entangling herself with Gideon.

She typed out another message, "I've decided I'm going to marry him."

But before hitting send, she hesitated, deleted it, and rewrote, "Gideon, thank you for being there for me these past few days. Right now, I just want some quiet time alone to heal. You should focus on your own life too. Let's meet up when there's a chance."

Only after sending this message did she finally switch off her phone and drift to sleep.

Giselle knew exactly how Gideon would react once he realized her true decision. But her mind was consumed with one thing only—marrying into the Kane family. To make sure nothing went wrong, she had to cut this relationship off, cold and final.
