Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 353

After the showdown with Giselle at the hospital today, Renee was drained. She was too exhausted to argue with Anne about her future marriage plans. After a few half-hearted remarks, she headed upstairs.

On the other hand, Anne sprawled out on the couch. For more than ten minutes, she pondered deeply.

By 5:00 pm, she made a phone call.

Zachary's indifferent voice rang out from the other end of the line. "Hello? What is it?"

"Zach." Anne softened her tone deliberately. "I saw on your Instagram Story that you flew back yesterday, right? Are you free tonight? I'd like to treat you to dinner."

Zachary was puzzled and cut her off impatiently. "Dinner? No thanks."

"Don't be so quick to shut me down," Anne coaxed gently.

"We're not strangers, after all. I've been meaning to treat you for a while now. Do you remember when I was about to end my life back on the bridge?

"You pulled me back and saved my life. I realized how much of an idiot I was back then. I really want to thank you properly, in person," Anne explained.

"No need," Zachary replied flatly. "I only did it for Uncle Don's sake. Honestly, I've forgotten about it already. Let's leave it at that."

Just as he was about to hang up, Anne hurriedly stopped him. "Wait. Just hear me out."

Zachary sighed. "What now?"

She headed straight to the bathroom for a long shower and picked a sweet and feminine outfit. She put on light, delicate makeup to conceal every trace of exhaustion on her face.

By the time she was done, she appeared stunning, flawless, and irresistible in front of the mirror. Only then did she grab her handbag and slip out quietly.

She drove her usual Porsche and arrived at the destination by 7:30 pm.

It was an exclusive private club with only three locations nationwide. It was funded by Anne's mother, Renee. Popular among the upper class, it was a preferred spot for high-profile business gatherings.

When Anne opened the door to a private room on the second floor, she saw Zachary sitting there.
