Wallace, the marketing executive, was the first to voice his opposition. "Ms. Holt, regarding your proposal to partner with e-commerce platforms, I believe your prices are too high. This should be reviewed further, so I suggest postponing any decision until next year."
Giselle nodded with a half-smile that didn't reach her eyes. "So what you're saying is that the e-commerce rollout won't be possible this year, and we'll talk about it next year instead?"
"That's right." To Wallace, she was just a novice. He had no intention of carrying out her proposal and would love to delay it for as long as possible.
"How about the rest of you?" She turned to the next person with a smile.
The executive of the R&D department, Jared Harden, lifted his hand lazily. "I have concerns as well."
"Go ahead."
Jared, a man in his 40s with a habit of pulling rank, spoke next. "Your proposal to develop new medicines in the second half of the year isn't realistic, as we don't have enough manpower.
"On top of that, the technology behind these products isn't mature. Frankly, the market demand isn't here. At most, we can guarantee one new tetracycline-based product."
"Alright. I understand." Giselle's lips curved in a cold smile as she nodded.
The entire room froze as their faces filled with shock. Some hadn't even processed what she said.
"Carlos Elliot and Charlie Glenn are fired for failing to attend this meeting without cause, a clear violation of company discipline," Giselle declared in her second announcement.
After she was done, she coldly turned to the HR executive and ordered, "Issue these notices within the company immediately. Complete all necessary personnel procedures within the day."
The HR executive was taken aback and asked hesitantly, "Do we need to notify Mr. Kane about this first?"
