Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 427

"Alright then," Vivienne replied to Giselle through the phone.

After hanging up with Giselle, the calm she had tried to hold onto began to waver again.

Resting a hand on her still-flat stomach, she thought about her uncertain future with Sebastian. Her insides churned until she couldn't hold it back—she rushed into the restroom and vomited.

She rinsed her mouth, steadied herself, and forced her legs to carry her back into the exam room. There, she put on her professional face again, coaxing and soothing a crying child through a root canal.

Hours later, her receptionist, Sylvara Greer, poked her head in.

"Dr. Lockwood, there's a beautiful woman outside asking for you."

"Who's she?" Vivienne asked.

"She said she's Ms. Holt. Young, pretty, kind of icy. Not sure if she's a former patient here to stir trouble." Sylvara's tone carried unease.

"Ms. Holt?" The only person who came to mind was Giselle. No one else with that last name registered.

Still, Vivienne set aside her work and walked quickly to the front desk.

It was Anne.

She stood with a luxury handbag worth millions of dollars dangling from her arm, arms crossed, eyes sweeping the lobby like she owned the place.

"Nice decoration," Anne said with a mocking smile. "From a dentist making barely ten grand a month to the owner of a clinic. No wonder you're Giselle's best friend. Change your fate by sleeping with the right man. Impressive."
