Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 433

Gideon had come back to the country only because his longing for Giselle had grown unbearable, pulling him straight to her office the moment he arrived.

That was when Giselle finally laid it all out for him—the night Ethan donated blood at the hospital, the revelation that followed, and the truth that Gideon was Ethan's illegitimate son. She told him everything, detail by detail.

At first Gideon refused to believe her. But as she spoke, the color drained from his face. His head rang with a hollow buzz, the sheer weight of the truth pressing down until it felt absurd.

He even let out a laugh, short and disbelieving. The laughter died quickly, swallowed by silence. Then, with trembling hands, he pulled out his phone and dialed Ethan. The line was busy. Again and again, he tried, each attempt cut short by the same tone.

He couldn't wait any longer. Still jabbing at the redial button, he staggered out of her office, stormed down the hall, and pounded the elevator button with frantic fury. His whole body buzzed with adrenaline, veins thrumming hot under his skin.

He reached the garage, threw himself into his car, and sped away. What should have been a half-hour drive to Kane Group headquarters took him barely ten minutes.

When he arrived, he didn't pause, didn't knock. He barreled straight into Ethan's office and shoved the doors open.

Inside the chairman's spacious office, Ethan was deep in discussion with several major shareholders about strategic plans when Gideon suddenly burst in. His expression faltered in surprise.

"Get them out," Gideon barked, voice sharp and uncompromising. "I have questions for you."

Ethan knew his temper too well. He didn't want a public spectacle, so after a few words to smooth things over, he dismissed the others.

"When did you come back?" Ethan tried to keep his voice calm, his expression indifferent. "I've been trying to reach you for days. You disappear to God knows where, no calls, no texts—I thought you might have died."

"Do you think this is what I wanted?" Gideon exploded, his voice rising to a roar. "Zachary's the glorious Kane heir, living in the light, pampered from birth, handed everything he desires. And me? I'm nothing but the dirty consequence of your lust, a bastard you tossed aside again and again.

"When no one else would take me, you finally dragged me back like some stray dog. And even then, you never had the guts to acknowledge me. You kept me hidden, terrified my existence would tarnish your perfect reputation."

"You—" Ethan trembled with rage, his face flushed red. His hand shot out, finger jabbing at Gideon. "Shut the fuck up!"

But Gideon couldn't stop. Years of buried pain surged out all at once.

"Ethan, listen. This isn't the life I wanted! Because of your filth, I was born into shame, branded as nothing from the start. If I had Zachary's birthright, no one could have stolen the woman I loved from me."
