Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 476

Ignoring Lauren's screams, Giselle turned away with a cold expression and walked out the door, shutting it behind her.

Lauren pounded on the door from inside, screaming for help. "Let me out! Please, let me out! Somebody help me!"

Giselle remained unmoved by her desperate cries.

The snakes had been bought from a specialized breeder. They were long and thick, but harmless. Their only purpose was to terrify, not to kill.

Less than two minutes passed, but the banging didn't stop. Lauren's trembling voice broke into desperate sobs. "Please, let me out! I'll tell you everything! Please, just let me go!"

Finally, Giselle realized that if Lauren scared herself to death, she could be blamed. She opened the door.

Before the door was even fully open, Lauren stumbled out with a pale face, crying uncontrollably, like someone half-dead with terror. She managed only a few steps before collapsing and vomiting.

Giselle signaled the two men to round up the remaining snakes and put them back in their bags. She stood over Lauren, looking at her coldly. "Well, have you thought it through?"

Though uninjured, Lauren trembled all over. Her eyes were unfocused, and it took several minutes before she could pull herself together. She sat on the floor, gasping for air, trying to calm her sobs.

After a long pause, she drew a deep breath. "Yes. I admit it. I wasn't actually raped by Donovan. I fabricated evidence and falsely accused him. He never assaulted me or harmed me. I work at a pharmaceutical company in Astrakhan. We supply raw materials to Kane Group and have had frequent business dealings over the years.

"That day, I went to dinner with our vice president and met Donovan for the first time. We talked about professional topics, got along, exchanged contacts, and later started communicating privately about business cooperation.

"After dinner with our vice president that night, Donovan drank heavily for reasons I don't know. I offered to take him back to his hotel. He was drunk, but still somewhat aware. Once at the hotel, I lingered and talked with him for hours, until around midnight."

Giselle left her phone recorder on, silently urging Lauren to continue with her gaze.
