Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 560

"Yes, where's Giselle now?" Dorothea pressed Ethan, her voice trembling. "You need to send someone to bring her back immediately."

Ethan was helped onto the couch. He ignored his injuries and called Gideon.

"Hello?"

When the line connected, Ethan spoke in a low, strained voice. "You're back in the country, aren't you?"

"What's this about?"

"Did you leak the truth?"

Gideon let out a cold snort. "So what if I did? That bastard was about to get married again anyway."

Ethan didn't bother arguing. He explained the situation briefly, then said flatly, "Go back to Cambria tomorrow. Bring Giselle home."

He ended the call without another word.

Donovan no longer had the energy to take it out on Ethan. All he wanted to know was where Giselle was.

"Take me to her right now. I want to go and bring her back myself!"

"We'll leave first thing in the morning," Ethan said.

"We leave now. Tonight," Donovan snapped. "I'm not waiting another minute."

"Mom, please stop," Zachary whispered beside her.

The jet lifted off soon after, rising through the night sky toward the other side of the world.

In the cabin, Donovan lay on the reclining bunk, his mind spinning with the same thought over and over, "She's alive."

In just a few hours, he would see Giselle again. The thought made his heart feel weightless. His mind was hazy; his entire being caught between disbelief and longing.

He had already accepted her death as an unchangeable fact.

He had accepted that she was gone, turned to ashes, completely erased from his world. But tonight, everything he thought he knew had been overturned.
