Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 584

The demand that reeked of danger made Donovan's heart sink.

Giselle immediately tensed up. She stared at the fishermen in disbelief.

Before the boat drew closer, she had pictured its passengers as innocent and kind fishermen who would offer help to stranded tourists without hesitation. She never expected that they were evil.

"What deal are we talking about?" Donovan quickly regained his composure, betraying no hint of panic.

Teddy Maine, the leader, spoke to Donovan in halting Edevanian, "She stays. You come with me, transfer five million dollars to me. Only then will we come back for her."

Apparently, they wanted to extort a huge sum of money from them.

Giselle felt a chill run up her spine when she heard Teddy's demand. They were not the simple-minded fishermen she thought them to be. Having spent most of their time at sea, they must have met many tourists from all over the world and faced many challenges, which made them shrewd.

In other words, they were no different from pirates.

Judging by their boorish, sly demeanor, they did not seem civil or open to negotiation.

"No way," Donovan turned down Teddy's demand without thinking. He would never leave Giselle behind and put her under the watch of two threatening fishermen.

Giselle quickly calmed down as well. She tried negotiating with Teddy, "If you send us back, we'll offer you 10 million dollars, and we will not call the police."

But Teddy seemed like a veteran in extortion. He dismissed her words. "Just do as I say!"
