"There's nothing embarrassing about it," Dorothea said indifferently. "If she really does have an episode, we'll just take her home. You can save me the complaints."
Grace rolled her eyes at Giselle, then snapped, "You'd better watch yourself later. The moment you feel even a little off, leave early. And if the show gets exciting, don't get too worked up. It's Dorothea's birthday, so don't bring her any bad luck."
Giselle was used to Grace's sharp tongue. She let out a cold laugh. "Relax, Grace, I know what I'm doing. If you're that worried, sit far away from me later. Even if something happens, no one will know we're related, right?"
"The tickets were bought days ago. You think this is an open-air venue where you can choose wherever you want?" Grace snorted, then hooked her arm through Dorothea's in a show of false affection and walked toward the entrance.
Giselle didn't bother responding and simply followed behind them.
The opera house was large, and today's performance was a popular one. The moment they stepped inside, the lobby was already packed and buzzing with excited chatter.
With guidance from the staff, the three of them moved slowly with the crowd toward the third-floor theater.
Opera was considered a more refined art form, so the audience was stylish, well-dressed, and included many foreign faces.
Thankfully, Grace had bought the tickets in advance, securing seats right in the center with the best view.
At 2:30 pm sharp, the performance began and the lights dimmed.
Dorothea had loved live stage productions for years. She always kept up with new shows and never missed the ones that caught her interest.
Giselle didn't have much interest in theater, but she tried to pay attention anyway. Even so, the thought of her condition lingered in the back of her mind, making it impossible to fully relax. She could only hope the show would end without any trouble.
