Chapter 74 

Anne was entirely consumed by hatred. Before Giselle could react, she suddenly shoved her hard. 

With a dull thud, Giselle’s body was thrown into the street, landing right in the blind spot of an oncoming truck. 

The massive vehicle roared toward her like an unstoppable beast. With its deafening engine and sheer size barreling down, it was too late to escape. 

She rolled her body just in time in a split–second surge of survival instinct. Somehow, she avoided the front wheels and ended up flat beneath the truck’s chassis. 

The roar of the engine, the terror of being moments away from being crushed to death–it was paralyzing. She stayed frozen underneath, heart pounding out of her chest. It felt like centuries passed before the truck finally numbled past. 

When it was gone, she could hardly believe she was still alive. She scrambled back to the sidewalk and collapsed in a heap, breathing hard, her brain spinning and heart still hammering with panic 

Thank God for her experience with extreme sports. Her body was light and agile, and her mind was sharp enough to react under pressure. Anyone else might have frozen on the spot, paralyzed by fear, and ended up a smear of blood and broken bones. 

Looking up, she saw Anne standing nearby, pale–faced and stunned. Clearly, she hadn’t run. She looked genuinely shaken. 

But the moment she realized Giselle had come out unharmed, her fear twisted into pure rage. 

“you filthy bitch! You really don’t know when to die, do you?” Anne spat, then turned and stormed off to her car. 

Meanwhile, a few bystanders who had seen the whole thing rushed over and asked Giselle if she was alright. The truck driver, who had braked just in time, also came over to check on her 

She could understand Anne’s deep hatred for her, but she hadn’t expected Anne to go this far, to try to all her without hesitation 

Whatever the outcome, this was attempted murder. It met the legal threshold. 

She decided she would pursue it to the end. 

But the next moming, when she went to the police station to checkon the case’s progress, the officer gave her bad news. 

The traffic camera at that intersection had been broken, and there was no footage of what happened.
