Bullied and Dumped, But She Won in the End (Adriana) novel Chapter 130

**When Time Tried to Heal Me But I Refused to Listen by Kael Niro Senn**
**Chapter 130: Adriana Is Pregnant**

Adriana stood there, her head shaking slowly, disbelief etched across her features. “I haven’t taken any medication or received any shots. Whether you believe it or not is entirely up to you,” she declared, her voice steady despite the turmoil within her.

Her heart raced, pounding against her chest like a frantic drum. Was this exhilarating sensation a result of her fervent prayers? Could it be that she was truly pregnant?

As she stepped closer, tears brimmed in her eyes, glistening with a mixture of hope and fear. She reached out and grasped the test results, a smile breaking through her anxiety.

Could it possibly be true? Am I really carrying a child?

“Adriana, someone like you has no credibility. If you have any guts, come back next week for another test!” Nicole’s voice sliced through the air, sharp and venomous, her anger palpable. Even if there was a chance Adriana was pregnant, Nicole was determined to ensure that it would come to an end within the week. There was no way she would allow Adriana to keep that baby.

The thought of a real pregnancy sent a shiver down Nicole’s spine. If it were genuine, the divorce proceedings would be postponed for at least a year—a year that felt like an eternity. Too many things could spiral out of control in that time.

“Fine, I’ll come back in a week,” Adriana replied, her grip tightening around the test results as if they were a lifeline.

“Let’s hope you really are pregnant,” Harold interjected, his words dripping with disdain before he turned on his heel and stormed out.

Nicole shot Adriana one last scathing look, filled with contempt, before she too exited the room, leaving behind an echo of tension.

Once the door clicked shut, Irene approached Adriana, her expression softening. “Adriana, may I ask how old you are?”

Adriana met Irene’s gaze with gratitude, feeling a warmth in her chest. “Thank you for asking; I’m 23 this year.”

Irene nodded thoughtfully. Twenty-three—a ripe age for new beginnings and possibilities.

“Anna has had a rough life; it’s high time she received some good news,” Margaret interjected, her voice breaking slightly with emotion. “Years ago, someone abandoned her at the door of our orphanage. Most of the children here face significant challenges, many with congenital issues or disabilities, but Anna has always been healthy and beautiful. I can’t fathom how her parents could be so cruel.”

Irene’s hands trembled as she took a deep breath, the weight of Margaret’s words settling heavily in the air.

Adriana had been left at the doorstep of an orphanage, a healthy child cast aside among those who needed extra care…

Could her biological parents truly possess such a callous heart?

From the very beginning, Adriana had appeared to be a bright, polite, and stunning child.

“Congratulations! Now that you’re carrying Curtis’s baby, perhaps your streak of bad luck is finally coming to an end,” Irene said, her voice warm and encouraging as she gently patted Adriana’s head. “Curtis may have his flaws, but he’s protective.” A smile danced on Irene’s lips as she regarded Adriana. “What a lovely young lady you are.”

Adriana felt a rush of warmth flood her cheeks, her gaze dropping to the floor. “Thank you…”

Before she could finish her sentence, Irene playfully tugged at a strand of Adriana’s hair, pulling it just enough to make Adriana wince.

Irene glanced down at her own ring, irritation flickering across her face. “Ugh, this ridiculous thing always snags on everything. Did that hurt?”

Adriana quickly shook her head, brushing off the minor discomfort. It was just a few hairs, nothing to fuss over.

“Well then, if that’s all, you should head home with Margaret and get some rest. No need to return to the hotel; just stay at Curtis’s place since you’re pregnant now,” Irene instructed, signaling the driver to take Adriana home.
