Bye-bye Trash! Hello Queen! novel Chapter 74

Was Natalie really giving up on him?

Sebastian couldn’t accept it. The girl whose eyes used to be filled with nothing but him—could she just stop loving him like that?

He felt an overwhelming sense of frustration. And then there was Matthew. Was that man really so great in her eyes? What was so special about him that she would praise him like that?

Hmph. Natalie, you will always be my wife.

On the drive home, all Sebastian could see was Natalie’s radiant expression, her clear, earnest eyes full of love for him.

The scene shifted to that afternoon, to her uncontrollable pain, and then to the confrontation at the Scott estate. It turned out to be nothing more than a show directed and staged by Joanna.

So, did that mean all the previous times Joanna had claimed Natalie was scheming against her… were all lies?

A bleak emptiness settled over Sebastian. He was afraid he was about to lose Natalie for good.

He looked at his driver. “Sean, still no luck finding where Natalie lives?”

Sean shook his head. “No, sir. The men we sent couldn’t track her. They lose her every time.”

Serves you right, Sean thought. He had witnessed the entire fiasco tonight. Joanna was truly evil. To push out the real heiress and enjoy the Scott family’s wealth for herself, she would stop at nothing.

It was a classic case of the bystander seeing things more clearly. They could all see Joanna’s true character. But Sebastian, blinded by love, could not.

Sean turned on the radio, deliberately tuning it to an audiobook station.

By a stroke of sheer coincidence, the program was titled, The Real Heiress Returns, and the Fake Heiress Panics.

The story was about a fake heiress who, fearing the real heiress would take everything from her, framed her repeatedly until the real heiress was kicked out by her own parents…

Nathan nodded. “Okay. First thing tomorrow morning, you go find Sebastian. Tell him you have no idea what happened today. Blame everything on Natalie. He’s always trusted you. As long as you soothe his ego, he’ll continue to trust you.”

“Dad, don’t worry about Sebastian. No matter what I do, he’ll always forgive me,” Joanna said with complete confidence.

Nathan was relieved. “Good. I’ll go prepare the tonic. Another half a month of this, and she’ll slowly start showing signs of dementia.”

Joanna smiled. “Dad, my mother has been waiting for this day for over twenty years. Don’t let her down again.”

Nathan ruffled her hair. “Don’t worry. Our family will be happy together.”

Joanna went to her room to rest, and Nathan headed to the kitchen.

Hidden at the bottom of the staircase, Wendy heard their entire conversation. She clamped a hand over her mouth in shock, her face a mask of disbelief.
