Called Off the Wedding, Left Him Bankrupt novel Chapter 146

"Yeah, there's no way she'd just stand by and watch if something happened to VistaSphere Group. She cares too much about the company."

The employees murmured in agreement, casting nervous, fearful glances at Benedict.

With a sharp huff, Benedict spun around, fury radiating from him as he stormed back into his office. Moments later, the unmistakable sound of things being smashed echoed out from behind his door.

No one in the executive suite dared to breathe too loudly. They exchanged anxious glances, but not a single person was brave enough to speak.

Cynthia knew the reason she'd received all those messages from employees was clearly because Benedict had told them to.

Since no one replied to her last message, she didn't let it bother her.

Still…

She stared at her last sent text, lost in thought. Gradually, a new idea began to take shape in her mind, growing clearer the longer she considered it.

Before long, she set down her bowl of warm soup, stood up, and headed straight for Holloway Enterprises.

Holloway Enterprises.

As Cynthia approached the front desk, the receptionist recognized her immediately. Her smile was polite as ever, but her wary eyes never left Cynthia, as if afraid she might dash for the elevator the moment she let her guard down.

"Miss Tremaine, you don't have an appointment. Would you like to wait in the lounge again?"

Just the thought of sitting in that lounge made Cynthia's neck ache all over again.

She shook her head quickly. "No, I'll just wait right here."

On her way over, she'd tried calling Dominic, but he hadn't picked up, so she followed up with a message. Even now, it was still marked unread.

Cynthia waited in the lobby for nearly half an hour, compulsively checking her phone—nothing.

"Miss Tremaine?"

A familiar voice called from behind.
