"What if I wanted to sleep with you?" Alexander asked.
Isabella found it both ridiculous and bitterly ironic. Yesterday, he had insulted her talent by accusing her of plagiarism. Now, he was questioning her morality. This was a direct insult to her character.
This time, she finally slapped him across the face. The sound was loud and resounding.
He froze, staring at her in stunned disbelief.
Isabella wasn't angry anymore. She smiled calmly and said, "Mr. Sinclair, like I said, sleeping with someone depends on my mood. Seeing you always puts me in a bad mood, so I couldn't resist just now."
"Isabella! Do you want to get fired?" Alexander snapped.
"Go ahead," she replied defiantly. "If you don't trust my ability and doubt my character, I have no reason to stay."
"Are you saying I wrongly accused you? That night I saw you at the bar, drunk and picking male escorts."
Isabella froze. She was surprised that he had been at that bar too.
Seeing her silence, Alexander's anger intensified. "What, no explanation?" he spat coldly.
She let out a self-deprecating laugh. "Yes, you saw correctly."
His expression darkened further when she added, "That man is my husband, Mr. Sinclair. I'm married. Isn't it normal to have some fun with your own husband?"
"You're married?" Alexander asked with a frown. It made him even more furious than when he saw her at the bar.
