Theodore knew that Isabella had been holding resentment for him in the last few days. He was afraid she would be annoyed to see him, so he deliberately worked overtime today just so that he could go home later.

Ever since marrying her, he had gotten off work on time every day. Caleb and Emma had also slowly gotten used to their former workaholic boss turning into a doting husband. As such, they were shocked to see Theodore actually working overtime today.

Emma quietly approached Caleb to whisper into his ear, "Has something gone wrong with one of the company's projects?"

Caleb shook his head in puzzlement. "No…"

Emma asked again, "What's the matter with Mr. Sinclair today, then? Is he not going home to accompany Mrs. Sinclair?"

Caleb continued to shake his head. "He didn't get into a fight with Mrs. Sinclair, did he?"

As Theodore's capable assistants, they naturally had to accompany Theodore in working overtime. In the past, they had to work until early morning every day. Theodore was a severe workaholic, after all, so they had long gotten used to it.

Considering how much Theodore paid them, they'd even be willing to work through a second night, much less just until early morning.

It was only at 10:00 pm that Theodore walked out of his office and told them, "You can clock out!"

Emma reflexively lifted her hand to look at the time. It was only 10:00 pm!

It was only when Theodore had entered the elevator that she and Caleb finally dared to speak in louder voices.

She snickered. "He still can't stay away from Mrs. Sinclair, after all!"

As Caleb turned off his computer, he said with a smile, "Thank you, Mrs. Sinclair, for putting an end to our lives as work slaves! Let's go, Emma! Supper's on me!"

Theodore hurried home and immediately spotted the shopping bag Isabella had left at the door.

He frowned lightly and picked it up, assuming she had forgotten to bring it inside. However, the door lock didn't respond when he tried to open the door. After careful inspection, he realized that it was because the lock had run out of battery.
