After placing Isabella on one of the barstools, Theodore answered her question, "She's my friend, Queenie Klein. Queenie, this is Isabella Moore."

"Hello, I'm Queenie Klein."

When Queenie turned around to stare directly into her eyes, Isabella paused. Why… were this woman's features so familiar? They resembled… her own?

She turned to look at Theodore in astonishment, but he simply asked gently, "Why aren't you asleep yet? Are you hungry? Let me make you something to eat."

Isabella stared at Theodore, filled with confusion. Could he not see the similarities between her and Queenie?

When he noticed Isabella's blank silence, Theodore asked in concern, "What's wrong?"

Isabella came back to her senses and pointed at the drink he had just mixed, saying, "I want to drink that."

Upon hearing that, Queenie reached out to take the drink and flashed Isabella a smile. She said gently, "Sorry, Ms. Moore, but Theodore specifically mixed this for me!"

Her words didn't seem to mean much, but she was looking challengingly at Isabella. Only another woman like Isabella would be able to pick up on her hostile intent.

Isabella sneered inwardly. It looked like this woman definitely had an unusual relationship with Theodore.

"You can't drink alcohol," Theodore told Isabella.

Isabella lifted her chin and asked petulantly, "But I want to. What now?"

It was rare for her to behave petulantly with him, so he gazed dotingly at her and agreed helplessly, "Okay. Be a good girl and wait here for me, then."

As Theodore turned around to mix her a drink, Queenie rested her chin on her hand and kept her eyes on him. She asked teasingly, "Why does it feel like you're raising a daughter, Theodore? Are you two really married and in love? Why do I find it so hard to believe you?"

"We're—"

Seeing that Theodore was about to answer, Isabella cut him off, "Of course!"

Theodore glanced up at Isabella, his eyes filled with a tenderness that stung Queenie. She couldn't help but look more closely at Isabella.
