It was a carnage when Letto arrived at the scene, the sound of the waterfall could hush the sound of those cries from the warriors that Maximus had killed in the most brutal way.

Therefore, Letto didn’t know what happened until he was so close with the scene and he witnessed the brutality of the king.

Letto was so close to his death before, so he knew how brutal the king could be, yet even though he knew, he still couldn’t stomach the carnage before his eyes.

The gruesome scene made the seventeen warriors that he took with him to come to this spot, vomited. They shifted back into their human form and shivered in fear, like leaf.

They watched the king ripped apart the head of a beast. Maximus was still in his black wolf, but you could see his fur was coated with blood, which kept dripping from him.

But, the blood didn’t belong to him, it belonged to the enemy.

Meanwhile, Letto didn’t know what to do. The king looked very savage, he didn’t think his words could reach him and if he acted recklessly when the king was in his madness, he could get himself and his warriors killed.

He looked around and saw the queen was lying on the ground, blood coated her body too. Rania was too far for Letto to know what happened with her.

However, when he was about to come closer to the queen, the black beast noticed that almost immediately and charged towards him.

Letto immediately shifted into his human form and knelt down to show that he was not a threat. He was not sure whether what he was doing right now was the right thing to do, because he put himself in a vulnerable state, where the king could kill him easily.

But then, he was going to die anyway if the king decided to attack him, there was no point for him to fight back or even try to.

“My king… it’s me, your humble servant, please calm yourself down. I have come… let me see the queen’s condition.” Letto tried to make his voice steady.

Seeing their alpha was in such state, all of the warriors that came with him shifted into their human form as well and knelt down, showing their submissiveness.

The last thing that they wanted was to provoke the king. They were going to die for sure.

Letto only came now because he had to take a round about way, since he was tasked to see the escape route of the enemies, while Maximus fulfilled the Eric’s request to meet here.

Based on that, it was later when Letto reached this spot.

“My king, please, calm down. I am not your enemies, I am your humble servant…” Letto tried his best to calm the king, he could feel the dread that he felt not so long ago when his life was on the line.

And when the black beast let out a menacing roar, Letto felt he was already dead.

However, the beast moved to the next target and started his killing spree again. Only then Letto dared to lift his head and look at his surroundings.

Letto watched as Ronan crawled away from the carnage, their eyes met and his beta asked for help from him.

But, at time like this, and to see the situation… Letto could draw his own conclusion about what actually was happening and why his beta was here…

“No way…” he shook his head.

“Please… help me… help me…” Ronan begged for the alpha, as he stretched out his hand, but at the same time Maximus was done with the other warriors and now he came for Ronan.

Right before his eyes, Letto watched how Ronan took his last breath, as his head was smashed against the big rock next to the waterfall.

The king had smashed the beta’s head so hard, to the point, some of his head scattered on the ground. Ronan’s blood spurted out.

However, the king was not satisfied, he kept repeating the thing that he was doing, to the point, it would be hard to recognize Ronan anymore.

Not only that, the king cut him off limb by limb, even though Ronan was already dead, but he couldn’t even be able to keep his body a whole.

After Letto lost count how many pieces Ronan’s body was being cut off by the king, he watched the black beast let out a primal roar, which soon enough there were dozen of wild wolves that emerged from behind the trees and bushes.
