The next day, Veyo Solutions was abuzz with activity.
Nancy wasn’t really worried about the issue. So what if it came to light?
She had carefully calculated the situation. Since it involved her personal dividends that were about to be paid, it was basically a temporary fund use. Once repaid, the shareholders‘ vote could easily approve a resolution to avoid penalties.
There were only three major shareholders anyway. What was there to stress over?
Nancy arrived at the office early.
The meeting was scheduled to start at 10:00 am.
At 9:30 am, Robin came in to notify her, “Ms. Stanton, Ms. Walker and Mr. Hockney have arrived. They said they want to see you.”
Nancy paused for a second. Without looking up, she said decisively, “I have a meeting to run. If she wants to see me, tell her to wait.”
She guessed Ariel was here today because of that nationwide talent recruitment she mentioned.
Ariel must have come to a conclusion. That was why she came to assess the situation. If she really wanted a spot in the competition, she would be the one begging to negotiate terms.
Chances were she would want to drop the lawsuit in exchange for a smooth career rise.
After all, the past was the past. Elena was gone. What was the point in fighting to the bitter end? It was better to trade for whatever benefits she could get.
At this thought, Nancy’s eyes flickered with scorn. Ariel was nothing but a weakling.
If that was the case, leaving Ariel hanging wouldn’t be a problem.
Now that the roles were reversed, Ariel deserved to know what it felt like to be shown no
mercy.
Robin got the message loud and clear.
Downstairs, Ariel received the response.
Chad frowned.
Was Nancy really putting on airs already? This was clearly just to annoy Ariel. Did Nancy think she could still be so arrogant after everything?

Ariel didn’t care. She looked at Tom and said, “M. Chapman, please contact your old friend. We’re going straight up there.”
Tom’s heart skipped a beat. He had a bad feeling this was going to be serious.
Nancy tidied herself up and headed toward the conference room.
Matt had come along with Jayson today, mostly just to watch the drama unfold.
When Nancy arrived, he raised an eyebrow and said, “It’s just a little money. Why make such a fuss? You should’ve just mentioned it to Jayson.”
Nancy glanced at Jayson sitting beside her.
She straightened her back and replied calmly, “No matter how good a relationship is, things shouldn’t be taken for granted. Jayson cares about me. I don’t want to trouble him too much.”
Matt’s eyes flickered with some unreadable emotion as he patted Jayson on the shoulder.” Look at that. She’s so considerate and not after anything from you.”

That was exactly what Nancy wanted to express.
Matt’s words made her smile quietly toward Jayson. She didn’t say a word about making Ariel wait downstairs.
Jayson said nothing in reply, just, “It’s about to start.”
Matt wasn’t part of Veyo Solutions and didn’t plan to go inside. He just intended to wait until it was over and then grab lunch together.
The meeting began officially.
Nancy sat right next to Jayson.
Though they were the major shareholders, the company’s bylaws and formal procedures still needed to be properly gone through.
Sarah was still in the hospital, so her voting rights were entrusted to Nancy.
Regarding this incident, Nancy had prepared clear evidence of the timeline. She hadn’t used the funds for any illegal purpose, had repaid quickly, caused no damage to the company, and handled tax issues thoroughly.
Moreover, those were dividends due to be paid soon. It was nothing too serious.
Most board members expressed understanding.
“Mr. Larkin’s stance is key. If he has no problem with it, we have no objections.”
