Chapter 522
Samson’s response and attitude caught Nancy completely off guar
She sat there stiffly. However, Nancy wasn’t someone who would subbornly cling to a man over issues like this.
She tried her best to appear normal and acted as though what Samson surmised about her wasn’t true.
Nancy didn’t respond to what Samson said earlier about not having any feelings for her either. “In that case

“You have a guest with you today.” The sound of a woman chuckling softly came from the direction of the door.
A deep frown creased Nancy’s forehead the instant she heard that voice.

By the time she snapped out of the daze, Cecilia had walked into the room. She glanced at Nancy out of the corners of her eyes. There was barely veiled contempt in those orbs.
She had a haughty, sophisticated air about her.
“I came in just in time and heard some parts of your conversation. Cecilia cast a glance at Samson, who remained seated. “You couldn’t possibly be so ignorant as to consider recruiting someone like her to work for your company. There’s no telling what kind of stunt she’ll pull next.”
Cecilia wasn’t even trying to hide the fact that she was mocking Nancy.
Nancy’s expression turned frigid.
Cecilia sat on the couch and scrutinized Nancy’s face.
“You’re going to give us that sour look now? Hearing the truth sucks, doesn’t it? We’re not short of competent technical staff members at the Yeager Group, Ms. Stanton. So, what exactly makes you think you’re so special?”
Cecilia’s remarks were extremely harsh, as she didn’t bother to filter her words.
Nancy felt as though Cecilia’s spite and hostility would tear her into shreds at any moment.
Furthermore, Cecilia and Ariel shared a friendly relationship. Looking at things from Ariel’s perspective, Cecilia would only despise and feel antagonistic toward Nancy even more.
Nancy got up. Her expression remained the same. “In that case, I won’t take up more of your time, Mr. Pryce.”
She couldn’t be bothered to respond to Cecilia’s remarks. The safest option for her was to avoid Cecilia as much as possible so as not to antagonize her further.
Nancy remembered vividly what happened during the art exhibition. The situation would not have gotten so out of hand if it weren’t for Cecilia’s decision to meddle in their affairs.
Samson’s impression of Nancy had never been a positive one. He ew even more certain of his gut feelings after having grasped some of Nancy’s actual thoughts. He simply instructed a sbordinate, “Please show Ms. Stanton the way out.”
After Nancy left, Samson cast a glance at Cecilia. “I’m going to work now. Don’t disturb me unless it’s something urgent.”
He was implying that Cecilia should leave as well.
This was the way they interacted with each other normally, and Cilia was used to it. She grabbed an apple from the table and hurled it toward Samson. Then, she scoffed and headed for the do
Without looking up, Samson raised his hand, caught the apple, and lightly tossed it onto his desk.
Nancy’s expression slowly turned cold and emotionless after she exited the Yeager Group’s building.

She glanced over her shoulder at the building. Nancy was burning with rage. At the same time, she was filled with utter disbelief.
She found Samson’s words totally absurd and ridiculous. Nancy couldn’t understand why he had to be so forward when she hadn’t said much to begin with.
Eventually, she managed to calm herself down. Since it didn’t work out with the Yeager Group, Nancy had to look for another option.
However, what mattered more now was that she should focus on preparing for the competition. Nancy was confident about making it into the third round, which would be an open competition.
