Chapter 574
Ariel’s brain stopped working at that moment. There was a loud ringing in her ears. She felt as though the blood in her veins had gone cold.
Ariel stood rooted to the spot. She couldn’t even lift her foot. (1)
She couldn’t see the car clearly either. Everything was quickly turning white before her eyes.
Ariel subconsciously held her breath.
Just then, a Rolls–Royce Cullinan came speeding this way from a certain direction. The car swerved and drove toward the black car at high speed.
With a loud crash, the car speeding toward Ariel was sent flying several yards away.
The night breeze swept through Ariel and ruffled her hair.
There was another sound of brakes screeching.
Ariel had yet recovered from the shock and horror when someone came up from behind her and carried
her in their arms.
As she was held in a tight embrace, the faint, familiar scent of fir invaded Ariel’s senses. She was carried
into another car.
Ariel lifted her gaze and saw Jayson’s deep–set eyes.
For a split second, Jayson didn’t try to hide his emotions. He looked a lot less distant and unfazed when Ariel looked his way.
“Don’t look outside.” Jayson didn’t let go of Ariel. He circled his arms around her waist. As he looked out the window, Jayson bent forward and put one hand on the back of Ariel’s head to pull her closer toward
him.
Ariel couldn’t see a thing since Jayson had held her tightly in his arms.
However, she sensed the car shaking.
It seemed like something had crashed into the car they were in. Ariel’s heart missed a beat as she felt the strong impact.
Jayson slammed his arm against the dashboard as he was trying to protect Ariel’s neck.
In the darkness, a small frown creased his forehead. However, that happened for just a brief moment. After that, Jayson appeared like his usual self.
It was suddenly quiet outside.
