Dead at Heart (Ariel and Jayson) novel Chapter 722

Jayson wouldn't let Ariel carry this burden alone anymore.

He didn't say anything about the Sanderson family, but Ariel understood enough.

The Sandersons' situation was probably more complicated than she had been told. She didn't press him.

As for the surgery…

"Thank you." She knew the experts he had gathered would be among the best in the world. That deserved gratitude.

With her life on the line, she wasn't going to haggle with him over pride.

Besides, Jayson had already helped her so much, openly and behind the scenes.

"If you want to thank me, just cooperate with the treatment. I won't accept any unexpected outcomes."

Jayson stood. As he stared at her pale face, his throat tightened before he added slowly, "Ariel, I'm only responsible for you. If you're worried about your grandma or uncle, you have to push through for them. Let me be clear. If something happens to you, I'm not going to take over their care. Do it yourself."

With that, he tapped her head lightly, then turned and left, keeping the turmoil in his expression hidden from Ariel.

Ariel understood the mood behind his "threat".

He was probably afraid. Otherwise, he wouldn't resort to this clumsy, domineering way of protesting.

She lowered her eyes and placed a hand lightly over her stomach.

When Jayson left Katie's house, he noticed Morgan calling but ignored it. He drove straight back to Bluum Corp.

He knew a visitor was coming and needed to handle what worried Ariel the most.

No sooner had he arrived than Arthur hurried in to report, "Mr. Larkin, Mr. Sanderson from Sanderson Group is here."

"Show him in."

As Jayson looked at Morgan, his mind echoed with the vile tone Morgan had used to threaten Ariel. His gaze didn't flicker at all. "I heard you have some so-called nude photos of my wife."

Morgan's face went pale at those words. He understood immediately that Jayson was going to make things difficult for him.

The fact that Jayson knew about this meant Ariel must have told him that Morgan had used those photos to threaten her.

"It's a misunderstanding. I'm Ari's father. I wouldn't stoop that low—"

"Give me the originals, and delete everything on your side. Any objections?"

Jayson ignored him. He tossed his car keys onto the table with a sharp clack that landed like a blow in Morgan's chest.

Morgan was naturally displeased. "Jayson, you've got it wrong—"

"Mr. Sanderson, do you think you have other options?"

Jayson propped his elbow on the table. His eyes held a sharp chill at the corners. "Even if you don't hand it over, I have ways to crush Sanderson Group. You need to understand that I'm giving you a chance here, Mr. Sanderson."
