Ariel thought about it. "You're coming? No need to go through all that trouble. We could just meet in Nacsall. This place isn't safe. Coming alone without protection isn't a good idea."

Most dangers were obvious on the surface.

"No worries, I can handle it. I'll coordinate protection on that side." Jayson knew what Ariel was concerned about, but it was just a minor matter.

He actually missed Ariel, even though she had just left.

Perhaps because their relationship had only just taken a step forward, he still felt a hint of uncertainty.

Noticing his insistence, Ariel considered the timing and judged it wouldn't be too problematic.

When Ariel got absorbed in something, she easily lost track of her surroundings. By the time she finished, over an hour had already passed.

She rubbed her neck and looked at the screen, which showed Jayson's peaceful sleeping face.

He had placed his phone on the bedside table with the camera aimed at his face as he lay on his side.

She paused and stared at him.

Jayson had always been a good sleeper. He mostly slept on his back, lying straight and still. He rarely slept on his side.

The only exception was the first year after they got married, when he liked to hold her from behind as they slept.

Other than that, he always slept on his back.

Today, perhaps he wanted to see her, or he wanted her to see him.

Ariel gazed at his face for a long time and felt a warmth rising in her chest.
