Chapter 3

A curse came through the phone, followed by his soothing tone. “That idiot must be blind! Come to Tharion. I’ll introduce you to a handsome guy. I promise you’ll like him.”

After hanging up, Gabrielle couldn’t sleep. She clicked open the chat with Timothy on WhatsApp.

He had changed his profile picture, which used to be paired with hers.

Gabrielle didn’t recognize the new character in his photo, but it was clearly coupled with Cecilia’s.

She felt pathetic. Frustrated, she threw the phone aside and forced herself not to think about Timothy.

But the harder she tried, the more memories of him came flooding in.

Half–asleep, the scene of his proposal played once more in her mind.

When the lights came on, Timothy knelt on one knee with a ring in hand.

There was a tenderness in his deep eyes. “Let’s spend the rest of our lives together.”

That moment had completely overwhelmed Gabrielle. Her tears blurred her vision.

She threw her arms around him and kissed him in front of all their cheering friends.

That night, she held back nothing and gave him her V–card.

Afterward, as she lay in his arms, his fingers gently stroked her damp hair. He then kissed her forehead softly.

“I’ll cherish you for the rest of my life.”

Back then, Gabrielle had believed him completely and wholeheartedly.

Looking back now, Timothy had probably been with Cecilia before he was with her.

Gabrielle felt nothing but disgust and fury.

Her tears soaked the pillow as she slept.

The next morning, the sunlight stung her eyes and woke her up.

Looking at her own pale, red–eyed reflection, she felt pathetic.

The nightmare had only deepened her desire to escape this place.

Just then, a message came in from her father. “You can come to Tharion next week.”

Gabrielle let out a long sigh. “Timothy Goldstein, I’m cutting all ties with you in this life.”

Since she might never return once she left the country, Gabrielle decided to deal with her properties first,

After a quick wash, she left her villa.

But she had barely walked out of the neighborhood when she saw Timothy.

He was in a suit, holding a bouquet of roses. At his feet were shopping bags filled with luxury gifts.

He drew attention from passersby, who stopped to watch what he was.
