Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 116

“Maybe I should just wait for roadside assistance... hey!”

Before Wiona could even finish her sentence, Conrad gently took her arm and led her straight to his car. He opened the door for her, all polished manners, and helped her climb inside. She barely had time to reach for the seatbelt before he leaned in, close enough that she could see the flecks of grey in his eyes.

“Sit back, Ms. Morgan,” he said.

He buckled the seatbelt for her, his face just inches from hers. Wiona looked up, searching for any sign of flirtation, but all she found was a storm of emotion she couldn’t quite name. She clung a little tighter to the seatbelt.

“Mr. Sullivan?”

Conrad straightened, then smiled politely. “Welcome to Hawthorne Hall.”

They drove through thick morning mist, winding up the mountain road until the car finally stopped at an estate sprawling across the entire hilltop. Hawthorne Hall sat at the peak, grand and imposing, its silhouette cutting into the sky. From the iron gates, Conrad kept driving for nearly ten more minutes, winding through a forest, passing a wall covered in blooming roses, and even skirting a glittering lake dotted with swans. When the main house finally came into view, it looked less like a home and more like a castle.

The moment they pulled up to the main courtyard, a fountain burst to life, water sparkling in the sunlight. Wiona could only stare, overwhelmed. She’d heard all the rumors about Hawthorne Hall, how it was Stonehill’s most mysterious and extravagant estate. Seeing it in person, she realized the stories hadn’t done it justice.

She remembered hearing about someone trying to fly a drone in once to get a peek at the grounds, only to have it shot down before it even reached the house. The security was legendary. The Sullivans almost never entertained guests, and the handful who had been inside had to sign ironclad non-disclosure agreements.

Wiona used to think the Sullivans’ mystique was just for show. How rich could they be, really? She’d grown up around money, seen all kinds of opulence. But now, standing here, she realized she’d been naive. Their wealth was on a whole different level. Hawthorne Hall was, without question, the most breathtaking place she’d ever seen.
