Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 287

Wiona let out a startled gasp. Madison quickly clapped her hand over Wiona’s mouth. “Shh. Don’t make a sound,” she whispered, her voice tense. “You don’t want anyone outside to hear us.”

Wiona’s hands and neck throbbed with a dull ache. She lifted her hand and stared, wide-eyed, at the crisscross of tiny needles embedded in her skin. Her neck probably looked the same. Glancing over, she noticed Madison was still holding a slender needle. It finally clicked—Madison had been giving her acupuncture.

Trying to push past the grogginess, Wiona shook her head. “Wait… am I back at the Morgan house?”

She scanned the room. Everything was just as she remembered, the bedroom she’d called home for twenty-two years. Aside from a few things she’d taken with her, nothing had changed. The family had kept her room exactly as it was. That surprised her, but what truly caught her off guard was realizing Madison knew how to do acupuncture.

Madison caught Wiona’s curious look and offered an explanation before she could ask. “When I was little, I learned from a family friend who practiced traditional medicine. I was pretty good at it, too. But now the family doesn’t let me do it anymore. They want me to study business instead.” She tried to smile, but it came out awkward and stiff.

“I get it,” Wiona said quietly. “I used to love painting, but they wouldn’t let me. At least they didn’t force me into business.” It looked like the Morgans had learned from their mistakes with Wiona and were determined to push Madison down a different path.

Madison’s eyebrows shot up. “You like painting? I never heard anyone mention that.”

Their eyes met, a silent sigh passing between them. It was the kind of look only people who truly understood each other could share. The Morgan family just wanted daughters who did as they were told. Who they actually were never seemed to matter.

Wiona shook her head, pushing the heavy thoughts aside. “Let’s not get into all that. Was it Kyle who brought me back? Do you know what he’s planning?”

Madison checked the time, then began pulling the needles from Wiona’s skin, one by one. When she finished, she handed Wiona a cup of water. “He’s trying to convince Mom and Dad to… have you get rid of the babies.”

Wiona’s face went white. “What?” Her hand flew to her belly, trembling. She didn’t feel anything wrong, but her anger surged. She slammed her fist into the mattress. “He thinks he can just make that decision for me? Who does he think he is? Does he still think I’m a teenager he can boss around, that I’ll just go along with whatever he says? I’m not that girl anymore. I don’t live for the Morgan family now.”

All that mattered to her were her children. Anyone who tried to hurt them was her enemy. No one would take them from her.

Madison reached out, trying to calm her. “Don’t freak out. I’ll help you. But they took my phone. I guess Kyle figured I’d try to warn you, so now I’m not allowed to go out, either. We’ll just have to find another way.”
