Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 44

Even in the most ordinary clothes, her beauty was impossible to hide. She stood out in any crowd, cool and elegant, drawing every eye without even trying. And when she started talking about the painting, she did it with such calm confidence that it was hard to believe this was the same woman everyone gossiped about. The rumors painted her as the fallen Morgan heiress, the one caught up in scandals and jewelry shop drama, but here she was, completely different.

Remy stared, amazed. “Mrs. Salisbury really knows her stuff. I never expected her to be so passionate about art. It’s actually inspiring.”

Korey adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses, looking thoughtful. “Honestly, I’m impressed. The Mrs. Salisbury we see today isn’t anything like the person people talk about. She’s full of surprises.” As he spoke, he glanced over at Conrad, as if wondering how he was taking all this in.

Wiona realized she was drawing way too much attention. She’d just wanted to enjoy the art, not become the center of it. Catching herself, she slipped away from the crowd as quietly as she could and quickly put on a mask. She thought she could wander the exhibit in peace, but luck wasn’t on her side. Before she knew it, she ran right into Kellen and Jace again. She spun away, pretending to study a painting on the wall behind them.

From the look of it, they hadn’t been able to meet Nicholas. Now, they were both standing in front of a painting of a tiger staring out at the sea.

Kellen tugged on Jace’s arm, swaying back and forth. “Jace, come on. Be honest. Who paints better, me or W?”

“W,” Jace answered instantly.

Kellen’s face fell. “I knew it. You’ve always liked W’s work. Back when we were in school, you used to talk about his paintings all the time. Isn’t that why you have two of them at your family’s house?”

“Yeah,” Jace admitted. “I was actually surprised to see another one today.”

“But you said my paintings have spirit,” Kellen pouted. “I even won second prize in the city art contest. Can’t you just say mine’s better, just this once? Please? Just make me happy.”

Jace looked at her, exasperated but affectionate. “Alright, alright. Yours is better than W’s. Happy now?”

Kellen beamed and practically melted against his shoulder, laughing.
