Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 49

Grandma Grace let out another sigh. “She’s like a phoenix that fell into our family. If she ever rises from the ashes, that will only be good for us.” Her eyes narrowed with resolve. “That’s why I’m never letting her leave.”

Jean nodded, agreeing from the heart. “She just hasn’t figured things out yet.”

But Grandma Grace seemed more anxious now. “I don’t have much time left. Maybe half a year, at most. I can’t sit back and wait anymore.” Her fingers drummed restlessly on the table. “The woman at the head of a family—her wisdom decides whether we flourish or fall apart. That’s why I’ve always favoured Wiona. She once gave up everything for the Morgan family, even her own dreams, just to marry Jace. I know she’d do the same for us if she had to. A woman like that will help our family go further than we ever could without her.”

shook her head, frustration etched on her face. “But Jace... That blockhead only cares about romance and feelings. What’s the point of all that? He doesn’t see any of Wiona’s strengths. No, I have to step in. I need to make Wiona see that the world can be cruel, and that only by relying on us can she keep her dignity and her life the way it is. And I need to make Jace see what’s special about her. Maybe then he’ll really fall for her. Before I go, I want to make sure Wiona never thinks about leaving us again.”

Jean felt a cold shiver run through her. Grandma Grace really did care about Wiona. But in the end, everything came down to the family.

Downstairs, Wiona heard the sound of voices and laughter. She knew Jace was back with Kellen. Pulling aside the curtain, she peeked out the window. A long, sleek Rolls-Royce was parked in the driveway. Jace stepped out, holding Kellen in his arms as if she were something fragile and priceless. Kellen, her head still wrapped in a white bandage, hid her face shyly against his chest. George and a team of servants crowded around them, ushering the pair inside, filling the entryway with noise and excitement. But just as quickly, the house fell quiet again. Wiona let the curtain fall shut.

She didn’t go downstairs that night.

The next morning, loud banging woke her up before she was ready. Her back ached as she sat up, rubbing at the sore muscles and blinking away sleep.

Molly knocked and came in, already complaining. “They just won’t let you get a good night’s sleep, will they? It’s so unfair.”

Wiona yawned. “What’s happening? Are we doing renovations?”
