Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 94

His mother’s lips pressed together, holding back words she almost let slip. The truth was right there, teetering on the edge.

He suddenly remembered the bowl of medicine he’d forced Wiona to drink—the one he’d handed her himself. He hadn’t known then, but it was an abortion drug.

A night of autumn rain had rushed Stonehill straight into winter. Frost crept over the windows. Wiona reached out to feel the cold morning air on her fingertips, but before she could, Remy barreled in and gently pulled her hand back inside.

Remy shut the window in a hurry, then tucked the shawl tighter around Wiona’s shoulders. “Ms. Morgan, you just started getting better. If you catch a chill now, you’ll really be in trouble.”

“Please, just listen to me, okay?”

Wiona could only stare at Remy, both amused and helpless. She’d been stuck in bed for five days, and the urge to go outside was almost painful.

Remy blinked. “I know it’s tough, but we drew your blood today. Once the results are in and everything looks good, I’ll let you outside for a walk, I promise.”

“Is your throat still sore?” she asked.

Wiona shook her head, pressing her hand to her neck. The fever had lasted two days and nights, and the meds made her recovery even slower. Her voice was so hoarse she could barely make a sound, but thanks to Remy and the Sullivan family’s team, her twins were safe—for now.

Still, she’d drunk that medicine. She’d thrown up most of it, but who knew how much had already gotten into her system? And all the drugs she’d taken these past few days, no matter how careful the doctors were, made her worry about her babies.

Her voice didn’t matter. Her babies did.

She grabbed her phone and typed out her question: How are my babies?

Remy glanced at her screen and gave a reassuring smile. “So far, everything looks normal. But we won’t know for sure until we can run more tests.”

She hesitated, lowering her voice. “Ms. Morgan, are you sure you want to keep them? I mean, what if something happened because of your illness or the meds? If the babies aren’t healthy…”

The rest of the words hung in the air. If something was wrong, it would be too late to change anything. She could be signing up for a lifetime of pain, for both her and her kids.

Wiona’s hands trembled.
