Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 303

This wasn’t the first time, after all.

Whenever it came to Evelina, Dean always managed to find her right away. He’d expect her to just step aside, like it was only natural for her to give up and let Evelina have her way. But the real schemer, the one fighting for everything, was always Evelina. Dean acted like he couldn’t see it. Every single time, he blamed her for everything, never once putting any of it on Evelina.

She was used to it by now, so she knew exactly why Dean was waiting around for her tonight—same old routine as always.

A sharp pain twisted through her stomach. Emmy pressed her hand to her belly, her face turning even paler.

“Abriella, I’ve thrown up everything. My stomach feels like it’s on fire. Do you have anything to eat?”

Abriella’s heart broke a little seeing her like this. “Go lie down on the couch. I’ll make you some noodles.”

Emmy curled up on the big, soft sofa, sinking right into it. But her mind kept spinning, wondering why Dean had gone through all this trouble tonight—coming all the way out here just to wait for her. Usually he’d just shoot her a text. Why not do that this time?

That’s when she realized her phone had been weirdly quiet all day. Not a single call or message from Dean. Yesterday, he’d called her again and again, until she’d finally picked up just to tell him to stop already.

She’d thought about blocking his number. But she couldn’t—not yet. She needed Dean to let his guard down, needed Evelina to try her old tricks again, just so she could catch them both in the act and finally get proof they were stealing her work together.

Once she had that, neither of them would get away.

Abriella came over with a steaming bowl of noodles, a perfectly golden soft-boiled egg sitting on top.

“Eat while it’s hot.”

Emmy sat up and gratefully took the bowl, blowing on it before slurping down two big mouthfuls. The warm noodles soothed her, slowly easing that burning pain in her stomach.

Abriella sat next to her, rifling through a pile of paperwork on the coffee table before pulling out two files.

“Here—your loser dad’s case. These are the attachments. Once your mom’s out of the hospital, the trial can finally start. This time, he’s not getting away with anything.”

“He and Claudia can barely stand each other now. As for Evelina’s latest mess, you know those two are in it together. Claudia wants to use her daughter to climb the social ladder, and Cooper’s even worse—he wants you to ruin Claudia’s plans, but he’s also trying to use Mr. Nelson to destroy you. Honestly, with parents like that, is it any wonder Evelina turned out the way she did?”

Claudia was desperate for Evelina to snag Mr. Nelson, while Cooper played both sides—trying to sabotage Claudia and take down Emmy at the same time.

Too bad for them, all their plotting had totally backfired. The one who’d actually made it to the top was Emmy. Their schemes had only ended up pushing her and Nelson closer together.

Nothing got past the detective agency, so Abriella knew exactly what was going on.

Thinking about it made her want to scream, but seeing Emmy so tired just made her feel protective.

Suddenly, Abriella leaned in with a wicked grin.

“Hey, let’s talk about something more interesting. Spill—at the charity gala the other night, how many rounds did you and your man get in?”
